YES! I am getting through to them.
I like to take my boys (10 and 16 years old) shooting and they enjoy it as well. Most times before we get to our "spot" I'll detour to a couple places to hunt for brass. The boys will most always pick up some brass washed steel cases that are berdan primed. I always try to use this as a teaching moment, telling them why I don't reload those.
Fast forward. Last night we sat down to watch the movie "Lord of War". The opening scene Nicholas Cage is standing amongst a sea of brass, setting up the whole movie. I'm drooling. I mentioned to my youngest son we'd have to rent a front end loader to pick all that up. His retort was "Dad it's probably all berdan".  After I picked up my lower mandible from the floor a tear came to my eye, they are paying attention!

My kids used to spend hours picking out lead from the hill. They had so much fun and were so proud of their treasures.

It's even more fun when they get old enough to pick out their own hookers... of course you end up fighting over the good ones.
That's when you have to exersize parental control.

The hookers I'm not concerned with. Have you seen what these teenage girls are wearing now? It'll make any self respecting lady of the night blush. Plus they are giving it away for the cost of a smile.
