Trend with threaded barrels...confused.

Ive seen a lot of pistols being offered in threaded barrel models. Thing is most dont have supressor sights. Basically there saying "we made a gun you can slap a supressor on but can't aim."

Whats with that?

Gives it personality? I like the look of the nub sticking out but agree it has little practical purpose for most shooters.

some suppressors work with normal height sights. I think SOME USP CT's came with normal sights, and it'll clear the silencerco osprey. My usp CT, tactical, SD and FNP tactical came with tall sights. The sig 239 threaded barrel (think they called it dark elite) didn't come with tall sights, nor did my M&P spec-ops (but it was added on later).

Who needs iron sights when you'll slap a red dot on it?

The threaded barrels are also suited for compensators and muzzle brakes. These options would not block the sight line.

A few years ago we noticed that some suppressors woouldn't let the sights clear.....then we kept playing and figured out that you can still "sight through" the supressor.....I hope that makes sense, I wish I coould draw a diagram here.

Essentially at realisitc ranges, you are still superimposing your sights onto your target, the supressor is just in the way.....it works.

Shoot with both eyes open (you should be doing that anyway with handguns) and it won't bother you.

Is that a pencil-barrel gen1 in the picture? If so, you have a rare combination of gun and suppressor.
