Extractor Interchangeability

Hello JR and thank you for taking your valuable time to do this forum. It is certainly appreciated by a new Glock owner like I am.

I just bought a new Gen 3 G19 about a month ago. I was putting together a spare parts kit and ordered spring kit, pins, etc. I also mistakenly ordered a spare extractor and spring loaded bearing for a 9mm pistol without LCI.

Upon reading some posts in forums about 15 degree and 90 degree extractors, I found that the new G19 used an extractor (and consequently, bearing) with the LCI. My question is if the older style extractor without LCI and its bearing would work with my new pistol?

Can it be done or will it cause problems? Thank you for your time and advice.

If you change the extractor you must use the correct SLB or take a chance of short stroking the cycle which results in a FTE

So it won't damage anything except maybe my patience if FTE's result? I wanted to make sure it won't do harm to the pistol and it looks like you've answered that.

Thanks for the information!

I have yet to see damage resulting from incorrect use of a SLB
