After an 18 month wait...
My final SA Custom Carry is finally done. This one has been easting away at me for a few reasons, but that's all behind me...I hope.
Specs:
5" 1911 .45acp
Fit slide to National Match Frame
Bar-Sto Match Barrel - Flush cut with 11 degree drown
EGW Carry Bevel Bushing
EGW Monogram Carry Bevel Plug
Highcut front strap (Colt style)
Heinie SlantPro rear sight
Front tritium sight
C&S Super Match hammer, sear, disconnector. 3.5# pull
Solid long curved trigger.
Ed Brown Extended thumb safety
CYLINDER & SLIDE forged slide stop, flush cut with frame
Carry Bevel
Ed Brown grip safety
Legacy Custom flat mainspring housing butt rounded
Hardchrome entire pistol
Machine Checkering front strap and mainspring housing 20lpi
Grips – G10 Grips for the time being.
AND NOW, for the pics
Don't have any...the pistol is only done and on the way to my FFL, not in my hands yet
It may stay in my collection, or if someone who likes hard chromed pistols wants it, maybe a deal will be meet. I haven't been able to decide since it's not in my hands.
It feels like Christmas in July, this 1911 is on the way, my Novak Colt is almost done, my Milt Sparks order is shipping, and I have a HK45 on the way. I think I truly am done until 2012...so much for being done buying pistols.
I blame RMA for the two HK's.

Awesome Gary, I really hope it works out for you. I don't think I would be as patient.

I had to help train Iraqi Army buffoons when I was AD, so this SA ordeal wasn't anything compared to those dip****s. I guess I still have some patience left after all.

Pics should be quick as long as my FFL gets it logged in in a timely manner. Range report.....might be a little longer.
On a side note, I'm very appreciative of what you told me about your 1911 situation. I'm going to pass on him after all, which is good since Novak's is close to completing my build.

I love how you dangled the "hard chrome" out there for one of the regulars!
I do hope this one performs as well as you need!

Congrats, any reason why you did not go with a Kart NM Barrel over Bar-Sto?

No real reason honestly. I have several builds with Kart's, I just wanted to try a different barrel. I was going to have a Nowlin barrel used but I talked myself out of it.

No problem......I usually don't air dirty laundry like that, but when I got your email stating your intentions, I figured I had a duty to at least give you the information.

I just had a butterfingers moment with my camera so no pics for the foreseeable future
But to have at least a pic here for now, the one SA I should have never sold.

Yeah man. That was a mistake selling that beauty. I love my Custom Shop modded TRP Operator. Beautiful gun.

Oddly, I sold that Pro since I had my non-rail Pro on order and wanted to order my Custom Carry(s). Had I only known what I was getting into..

Oh man I'm sorry.
I've heard some stories about them, but I haven't had to leave the states. Good, bad?

BAAADDDD!!!!
95% of them had zero disciple, didn't take anything seriously, didn't listen, played stupid...everything was a game to them. I remember one of the guys wanting to trade his AK for a few MRE's, I am not kidding.
I was a M2 gunner, one day we took the turds with us to help pull security since it was during one of the pilgrimages they had. I was doing rear security when one dip**** parked his damn truck RIGHT in front on my M2.
When I threw a water bottle at one of them they acted confused, like they had no idea what the problem was. Either they were that stupid,VERY possible, or someone was working for the insurgents (very common) and they thought I wouldn't shoot through their truck, hah.
You can't tell from the photo but here this guy has the muzzle of his AK buried into the ground. Disregard my CO playing with his M9, he had it out since that IA wanted to trade his AK for it. To sum up dealing with IA/IP(Even worse) is like babysitting children who ate pounds of sugar/etc, except children have more sense.
