New2me G30

Did it. Wanted a G30 forever and finally pulled the trigger today!

It's a gen 2.5 (April '97) in good condition. Slide was replaced by Glock at point & has an S- serial number.

Off the range tomorrow for some G30 lovin'

Congrats on the new .45! I picked up one with my GSSF coupon, and it is one of my favorites!

It's classified as a subcompact, but it is much closer in size to my G19/G23, and it fits in the same Remora holster as those two.

Let us know how it goes at the range.

I think mine's about 6 months newer... With a CKV ser# I'd guess the test fire date at October 97. Were those ALL gen 2.5?

Yeah, looks like they didn't start mass producing 3rd gens until 2002.

Congratz. You'll love the way that thing shoots! I've had a previously owned 30 for a couple of years and it has been super, and it isn't a bad weapon to carry.

Did a quick field strip & clean and put 100 rounds of WWB 230gr through it this morning.

I am a fan.

Took about 50 rounds for me to get used to the thick beauty & her ginormous payload (I've never owned a .45 ACP Glock).

By the 9th mag, I was able to put all 10 rounds into a 5 in. circle @ 21 ft. I know with more trigger time, I'll be able to tighten it up quite nicely.

Brought it home and gave it, and its two 10-round magazines, a good cleaning.

I have some 230 gr Speer GDs & Ranger Ts on the way. I'll run a few mags of each & pick one for my carry load.

I love carrying my G26 (warm weather) & G32 (hiking & cool weather). I shoot both well...

...but I can tell I'm gonna fall in love with the G30 and it's ability to fling 1/3 pound of awesomeness

Got my Glock Sport/Combat holster yesterday. Might be the only holster I'll ever need as I don't think I'll be IWB'ing much.

230gr SGDs and Rangers will arrive this evening. I'll run a few mags of each to ensure functionality and will be good to go!
