I just joined because this is the most useful website on the web today
Anyways first post here we go ......
I just picked up a gen 4 23, and of course put a 3.5 # scherer connector in it, and went to put it back together, and was not able to put the slide back on
... HUH so I quickly put the old connector back in thinking that was the problem , but still the slide didn't go all the way back on. So I looked to see that the trigger bar needed to be pushed down (cocked position ) to reassemble the pistol. I put the new connector back in, and reassembled, and did a function test, and everything was ok
... I have owned 2 g-17's, and a g-21, and never had to do this with them.
BTW I did shoot it out of the box, and field stripped with out having to push the trigger into the cocked position to put the slide back on .
