I don't mind people collecting from something they have "put into".
I guess from my perspective, I am in no way relying upon the government to pay me anything. Medicare, Medicaid or SS.
And this is what they are trying to tax me out of. The libtards want me to fail at business, they want me to fail at having my own medical, and they want me to fail at my own retirement. They do in fact want me dependent upon them for everything. It's sick and evil to it's core.
I wholly support anyone that has paid in during their life to collect what is coming to them. It's the moochers that scam the system that pisses me off. And trust me, I know a few of them. And O'Bummer is creating more and more of them.
I have a neighbor that collects SDI income for some accident he had many years ago. Bad back and all that. Blah blah blah.
Today, he drives a Hummer, a Harley, a Ski Boat and God knows what else all at the expense of the system. And to tell you the truth, he is a pathetic excuse for a human being, even with his non-working lifestyle. He get's along with nobody in the community.
Those are the people that have to be rooted out of the system, along with the Food Stamp people that eat steak and lobster at tax payer expense.

My sister just turned 65 and works full time and was told by her insurance company that they are cancelling her policy because she is 65 and she had to go on Medicare. Sometimes you have no choice.

Dinky, I am really sorry to hear this. But it sounds like she's of the age in where she has paid into the system a long time and deserves to collect on that.
I've taken a different tact where I don't want to be told what I can and can't have at the hands of some bureaucrat that can't think their way out of a paper bag.
What would have been nice is if your sister could have deferred some of her taxes to her own medical benefit plan. Not her fault, it's the system we live under at the moment.
And even if you're own medical benefit package didn't cover everything, Medicare could be there as GAP insurance for any shortfalls. But to think that Medicare is going to be solvent in 20 years (for myself anyway) is a pipe dream.

The Dr. she works for told the insurance company to stick it, dumped them and went with another company that does not dump people at 65...

There's an old sea story about a ship's Captain who inspected
his sailors, and afterward told the first mate that his men smelled bad..
The Captain suggested perhaps it would help if the sailors
would change underwear occasionally.
The first mate responded, "Aye, aye sir, I'll see to it immediately!"
The first mate went straight to the sailors berth deck and announced, "The Captain thinks you guys smell bad and wants you to change your underwear."
He continued, "Pittman, you change with Jones, McCarthy, you change with Witkowski, and Brown, you change with
Schultz."
THE MORAL OF THE STORY:
Someone may come along and promise "Change",
but don't count on things smelling any better.

Couldn't agree more, Trent. If he gets a second term, the US we know today will be gone in a matter of months, if not weeks.
Many suspect a lot of the 'stupid' things he's done (the health-care fiasco, for example) were done with the goal of intentionally breaking the back of our society...make as many of us as possible dependent on big gummint, thus making the dictatorship easier to establish. Crazy like a fox.
