I am STILL waiting on mine. Evidently, Ruger has fallen behind on production.

I was fortunate to obtain one back in July and it has proven very reliable. It is also well made. Ruger did their homework on this one. It has most of the bells and whistles people want. The major problem seems to be a lack of availability, everybody wants one,but they are very hard to find.
A good basic 1911 for a very reasonable price is the Rock Island Armory 1911.

They only made 3 of them then shut down production for the rest of the year.Flipper and bac each have one.The third one is on GB trying to fetch $1500.

Ruger claims it is sending out 300 SR1911's each week to distributors. Seriously back ordered.
I have heard that some gun shops sold them for $599.00.
That has to be the best deal on a 1911 you could find.

Its a very nice example of the 1911 to be sure. Very happy with mine.
I like it enough to whore this picture over and over again. I should take another one with my work area cleaned up.

It would be.
Actually we call it that because Sportsman's Warehouse came in to Oregon with a bang and drove most of the gunshops quickly out of business. And then they went under. Now all of them are outdoor sports 'whatever' shops.

It's the only 1911 that stovepipes and jams in our collection. I think it may be mag related. Only had factory mags with us at the time. Nice gun. Did it 4 times in 150 rounds. We'll see. Won't stay around long if it won't work. Can't stand a gun that doesn't work.

I just noticed that your trigger isn't skeletonized like the one I have (or the one in bac's pic). Have you changed it?

I have one. Just got to shoot a box of shells through it. I love it. More accurate than I am. Ruger hit a home run with the SR1911.

My LGS got 5 in right away. They held on to 1 for a shop gun. I have witnessed offers of up to 800 for it but they will not let it go. Everyone that shots it wants one. Right now they have almost 40 on order with not a clue on when they will be filled. The only nice thing is they are selling it for 629. Yes, I am on that list, I kick myself cause i passed on one of the first 5.
