DS Arms info
I am looking to buy an black rifle and can get a DA Arms for less than $800. As I have looked around it doesn't seem that too many people are talking about them. I know that the barrel on them is an issue but I am not expecting to fight a war, just plink around. And experiences with this rifle is appreciated.

I think there are better choices. I don't usually talk down any ar manufacturer but you could get better for the money even if it is a plinker. If you do get it though. You can be our guinea pigger...

You can do much better than DSA for 800 bucks.

I had a DSA upper once upon a time and I did not have a single problem with it. That said, for $800 you can do better

Do this. Hammer forged or the "premium" line.

Nothing wrong with DSA. $800 is a little high though. Of course, that depends on what it has on it. I have three DSA builds that I did in the last year. I am perfectly happy with them.
I have less than $700 in the one in the center.

Considering that you could go to their site and order a complete lower for $200 and a complete upper for $275...yah $800 is too much. I would just order direct from DSA and have it shipped to your FFL.

You still have to order a BCG and CH, which runs about $130. If you buy the detachable carrying handle, that will set you back about $85.

Is everyone on the same page?
DSA is different than Double Star
Which one is everyone referring to?

Yah I'm with you on that because I heard through the grapevine that Double Star doesn't use a standard F base front sight...at least people were crying on that on arfcom awhile back when I was looking at uppers...

I appreciate the input. I think I have moved on and am going to keep looking. I have plenty to shoot right now but....
