Tactical Carbine Class, 22lr
With the current state of the economy and rising ammo costs, if you could attend a local (limited driving and no hotel or other per diem costs) 2 Day Tactical Rifle class utilizing a 22lr AR15 platform gun......would you?

Yes I would. But it would be good if the curriculum still has some centerfire shooting for malfunction clearance, long distance etc.

Sounds fine. When I was teaching them using a .22 was almost always an option for a tactical carbine/short-range rifle type of class.

I think even a good Airsoft gun can be used.

Absolutely! Good training is good training, no matter the caliber of the rifle. The only factor you will be missing is recoil control. You will still learn good marksmanship and tactics. Of course it is best to train with the gun AND caliber you will be fighting with, but training with sub-caliber guns can have a lot of value.

I'd be interested. Anything to bring the cost down, as long as it was good training.

Last carbine class I took the instructor brought up he was working on .22lr conversion kits for use by those who want to take first day. 2nd day would be centerfire.
I didn't hear if they did it. As IIRC course was @ 600rds. (back when 500 rds was less then $100 with tax.) Now....
