yeah I don't react well around snakes. So far, it has not ended well for anyone that I have ever met.

My vote is for dead snake also very commonly found in neighborhoods and other populated areas

It was in my garage.

Next time, go on a slug hunting rampage. Those suckers are far more dangerous than garter snakes.

I have cats and dogs for the mice and other critters.
It was a shovel.
Typically when I see a snake, its dead. Ill worry about ID'ing it after its dead.
Works out better for me.
