I've been hog and deer hunting for about 20 years now. I really want to go on an elk hunt. I currently live in West Texas. There are elk out here but I don't know of any outfitters out here. Also is like to go up North to elk country. Does anybody have any suggestions for good elk hunting guides?

You might try the "Boot Ranch' and the "CF Ranch' in W. Texas. If i recall they are close to $7,000 for bull elk. Some are fenced (no thanks for me) and some free range. You would be far better off trying to get a draw from N.M or Colo. etc. And find a "working cowboy ranch". There are still "a few left. "Sad to say not many around this old country any more.". They day of the real working ranches and cowboys is just about gone.
