I work for the Palm Beach County Sheriffs Office. You have a choice of either a Glock 22 or a Glock 23 for duty carry.

My LE Agency approves the G-22/23/27, G-17/19/26, also some carry a G-21/30SF/30S (last two for off-duty or Detective)...it's all about which handgun and caliber works for the individual officer...placement is the goal...

My main duty weapon is a Glock 23 gen 4, but it is personally owned. Our agency furnishes us ammo at least. Our policy for uniformed officers is any Glock .40 except for the Glock 27...unless used for back up weapon, off duty or plain clothes.

I have small hands so the 27 is perfect for me. I also like I can carry concealed and I could throw in a larger capacity mag if I wanted to.

CT. And they're so common, you'd almost be better askin who doesn't. Most agencies that issue glock allow the 23 as an option instead of the 22.

This pretty much true across FL, GA, TN, and AL. I would say more than 50% of agencies here authorize, issue, or require a G22 with a G23 as an authorized substitute. If it were not for the 9mm restrictions on armed guards in FL I would have bought a G23 instead of a G19. If I ever get where I can stop constantly deploying I will get a LE job.

The Alexandria, VA. police use Glock 23's as do their fire marshals.

In TN we have these departments using Glock 23's exclusively:

ABC*
TBI
UT Police
Norfolk Southern Police
TVA Police

Henderson PD
Lookout Mountain PD
McMinnville PD

However, most of our departments use Glock 22 with a Glock 23 acceptable as a substitute.*

I'm not LE, but local agencies here in CA carry or authorize Glock 40 caliber pistols:
Burbank Police
Los Angeles Police Department issues Glock 22's and allows the 23.
