Hammerman Likens!!!!!
This year, we can't afford to have Hammerman Likens (aka Abraham Lincoln)
come back and talk to the children.
Instead, we will have Benjamin Franklin! I can't WAIT to read the name that the children create for him!!!

I can't believe Abe costs more than Franklin. A five versus a hundo...
And Ben was WAY cooler. I'd way rather meet him than Lincoln.

I'll have to save this thread for my friend if she's short on ideas for speakers anytime soon!
Although anyone that is FREE has the best shot this year.
The budget is really sadddd news in our state this year!!
I'm praying that I get to keep some of my programs this year. We LOST our
On-line encyclopedias already because we have to pay to use them. So, kids are going to have to do research the old fashion way....using the BOOKS...the Encyclopedias in the Media Center.
Can't afford Modern Technology right now!

I've had a long and tough day today!
Second grader raises her hand after I did my lesson and assignment was given.
She tells me that she can't hear a THING in her headphones. (I look and headphones are still clipped to the table).
I tell her that she needs to put her headphones on her HEAD to be able to hear from them.
She says...."Oh."
Not the sharpest tool in the shed!
Forgive me. It was a really tough day.
I ask questions they raise their hands to answer questions pertaining to my lesson.
"Mrs. B? Did you cut your hair?"
