So, what if you had an extra $10,000 ??

Survival/Preparedness Forum

Not entirely hypothetical, but if 10 grand landed in your lap, and you already had 2 weeks of food, several guns including a capable battle rifle, huntin' rifles that can stand in for snipers, varmint rifles and hand guns, and an almost acceptable amount of ammo for each...

what would you buy?

OK, so far, I was thinking a MUCH better gun safe, updating the security system, adding to ammo, mobile propane generator, buying that Dillon 650 I have always wanted, and some basic prep trips to Sams club (TP, more canned food that we will eat, batteries etc etc)

Maybe, another mighty fine huntin' dog?

Got the long term water preps, and the water filters (several types). Can pee into one side and have ice cold sterile glacier water come out the other.

Food, getting it. Long term storage in mind. 10 - 25 yr shelf life, to add to the little I have.

Ammo, getting enough, and enough components to reload much MUCH more.

This is truly "blow a wad of cash" money. Not allocated for anything, just unexpectedly showed up, not included in my retirement plans etc.

There is more that will go toward what most people will consider responsible investments.

This is "free" money, in the purest sense. It's here, the wife will even let me spend it without future guilt.

Looking for more ideas.

Got the med supplies. Anyone need an appendix removed ??
Sucking chest wound?
Infection, cold flu, dehydration, typical illnesses seen in the field?

I keep 3 full trauma bags and about a 6 month supply of meds around at all times. Occasionally take a bath (financially) on Antibiotics and IV fluids. Expiration dates happen.

Fuel: Have already planned on having several extra 20 gallon propane tanks for heating/cooking. Have enough gasoline to get all three cars to a rural location with more supplies and friendlies.

I'd buy a lot of ammo and reloading equipment/components.

Carpentry I can do. Welding? Good idea. Gonna have to consider that one seriously.

Thanks,

Thanks,
In SHTF, blacksmithing might be better. Anyone around here run one of them backyard foundries?

Really kickin' back and forth between a portable propane generator, and an on demand stationary one. Pluses and minuses each way.

Home security. Doors, windows, cameras, sensors, landscape, etc.

Or some land for a bugout location.
