Eh, things are what they are. Wife and I are getting through it day by day. I really need to sit down and do some writing about our lives and where we are and where we have been but I'm half afraid to do it and half too busy. I need to do it because it would be good for me but I'm not giving myself the time to do it since I don't want to open the floodgates.

Came back to work and it seems like WW3 opened up while I was gone. We used to get a couple serious calls every month or so and now it's a couple a week.

Med runs or security/police runs or both?

Both, our ECO's (Emergency Custody Orders) always go up during the spring semester but this is rediculous. 3 in the last two days and somethhing like 10 in the last month or so. We usually get 10 a YEAR.

We had a fight call with one officer in the hospital, the suspect was a pencil sized guy on something. Lots of attempt suicide, more than norm. More drugs than normal, less alcohol issues but more hard drugs like coke. It's been strange

Wow. What's the student population like? I mean, size and all.

15k students about 2k faculty/staff at any given time. This weekend we have another 2k of visiting parents and potential students.

With those numbers, I'm kinda surprised you had as few issues as you did! Students and faculty (especially faculty) can be some of the strangest critters around, for sure.....

Is it crazy that I want to sell my AR and buy a second AK with it now?

Yes!

While it's never replace my AR, a good AK is certainly on my "to get" list.

I'd probably get another AR regardless, though; I have an M&P15 Sport. No forward assist, no dust cover.

Ah, well that makes the difference then. I'd trade an M&P sport for a good AK in a heartbeat. I'd like to have two AK's one day. A class 47 style with the wood furniture and a modernized version with rails.

I have the 74 that's the wood, and I'm thinking of a nice custom 47 from Rifle Dynamics, if I can afford it. If not, maybe an Arsenal.

ETA: Though this certainly looks nice.......

I have a wood furniture WASR AK-47 that is pretty much what you think of when you think AK. I bought a bayonet for it too. That thing is pretty wicked. Makes our M9 bayonet for the M16/M4 seem pretty meek by comparison.

I didn't like any of the "tactical" AK series until I watched "Strike Back" and saw those two guys use the tactical AK to the exclusion of almost everything else... gotta admit, it didn't look too bad.

Well, shot the AK and new shotgun today. Yep, the canted sights make it WAY off. They do, however, have an Arsenal SLR106UR in 5.56 that really caught my eye; just begging to be SBR'd. I may trade the AR and AK both in for that one! Especially since it looks like they stopped making it!

That'd be sweet! Especially with a railed handguard so you could mount a micro red dot.
