oh you have no idea...
you can get all kind of pistols, but thats it. Semi automatic rifles are very very expensive and there are not a lot to find.
The only semi auto rifles sold at the moment are:
Oberland Arms 15 - armalite system
sig55x - austrian versions, most not working, very expensive
Steyr AUG-Z - civilian version of the AUG
couple of gay looking hunting rifles (which arent allowed for hunting here lol..)
We also have semi auto shotguns, they are quite cool (pump action is forbidden...yep stupid).
Most people are only allowed to own two semi auto weapons. So its either pistol - rifle, pistol - pistol, rifle - rifle.
More can only be bought by doing competition shooting and begging for it..
gun laws suck here.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking after SBR'ing it. It would be a very nice little CQB gun.

Hey, at least you get the Steyr and I bet Glocks are cheap!
So you probably would love to play with the Remington 870 or Mossberg 500 pump shotguns, eh?

In CA, we can have SBS/SBR as long as the gun is a C&R... so yeah, go find yourself a nice Browning A5 from the 50's and then cut the crap out of it... or cut up some stupid semi auto 22LR from the 50's or something along those lines. Great laws, eh?

a new Glock17 goes for about 800$ here... nuff said..
I once shot a competition (dynamic stage) with a pump action shotgun, dont even know the brand. Very cool, very funny, until I had fired the first five slugs.. holy **** did that thing kick...
Have the video still on my computer.
So a couple of those still can be found at ranges from time to time, but not bought, sold or inherited... they are vanishing ..

Good luck on that. What's your first choice?
I have been in for about fifteen and a half years. To be honest, some of the changes that have come round to our institution are not something that would have been tolerated when I first was employed. In fact, when I was down in Glynco training, they told us that we would be training as per our institution and doing things differently. Now, we are all part of the KGB, (kindlier, gentler, bureau). I don't speak to an inmate unless I have to, and won't lay hands on unless I have to. The reason is for all the liability issues that we face as BOP staff, and the attitudes of some within our hierarchy that tends to favor the inmate's words against the staff.
With that being said, once you are hired on you should get liability insurance. I carry it myself.

They soak you all more on Glocks because of taxes, or is that from the company?
When you get back to the states, you will have to go to a place that allows for shotguns. We have a place on post we can go to for trap and skeet. I'm not the best at it, right now.

everything fun is more expensive here.
For example, when I visited your country, I saw a lot of Mitsubishi Evo 9 and X models driving around. That impressed me, because they are kind of rare here (well its a 300hp sports car... thats expensive). So I asked lawman about that and he said that the price (which I confirmed online) is about 30k$.
Here they are sold for about 50k$
!!
Same with the new camaros. They cost about 30-40k$. Because of their power, the SS models are sold for about 110k$ here.
Small country, small market, high taxex, stupid politicians -> high price
holy cow
btw trap and skeet is available here too. Not that, but quite common. Its only the pump action shot guns we cant buy.

why are people afraid of passing a police car?
blocking the left lane for miles, and I think if I had not used my headlight flasher (at 1:18min) he'd stayed there forever....

Beats me, Horror, but they do the same thing here...
So some pencil pushing dweeb on the city council of the PD I'm testing with has suggested cross training LE as FF... What a moronic idea! If I (and I'm sure every other cop out there) wanted to be a hose dragger I'd have signed up for the FD instead of the PD...

They do the same thing in my neck of the woods, too.
I agree on these "public safety agencies"; to me it really seems to be a mess waiting to happen. We have one here, the airport PD/FD. I just don't see how you can stay current in both professions and still be available to work shifts!

I can see where it looks good on paper to politicians and I can almost see where it might work with departments with a very limited scope, like the the airport you mentioned, but in reality I don't see how its workable, especially with a municipal agencies. Cops and firemen are busy enough with their respective duties and have very diferent jobs. Not to mention I don't see how it works logistically and you've still got to have "x" amount of LE and "x" amount of FF. Then you have the completely different mentalities, personalities and goals of LE and FF.
So far, in my situation no one seems to think its a good idea. Not yet, at least. Lets hope it stays that way and the idea goes away as quickly as it came.

I shoot trap and skeet at a range about 5 minutes from my home with my pump shotgun. Nailing a double on skeet with a pump is quite a rush!
As for the price of cars, yeah, Americans are pretty spoiled when it comes to cars because we get them relatively cheap and we don't have tiered licensing where you are limited in horsepower by your licensing tier. A kid with a brand new license can buy a 550hp Shelby Mustang or a 190hp Suzuki GSXR1000 if he can afford the insurance.

cars are so expensive here, not that I would have to pay at least 50k$ for an Evo X, I then would have to pay probably about 300$ per month for tax and insurance oh and the gallon is now double the price you pay.
our politicians hate cars, so I hate our politicians

We are now at $4.25 per gallon here for gas.
As for your politicians hating cars, what cars do they drive? All pretty much expensive luxury sedans, I would guess. Typical politicians wanting you to live in a way they would never lower themselves to live.

I just wrote that CJ on fb: Gas is now about 5.20$ a gallon here and couple of months ago it was 6$ a gallon - will be again during summer offcourse.
Germany is even more expensive than that.
The politicians drive Audi A8 and such cars... well infact they get driven in Audi A8 and such...

I love the A8/S8 but it is just so plain... and cost so much for such plainness... that I will pretty much go with a BMW7 or MB S-class.

Even the current 2012 S8 looks like any older A8/S8 from the 2000's. Man, you are paying 6 figures... and I understand Audi wanting it to look like a Q-ship, but c'mon... even BMW and Mercedes spiced up their performance packages a little bit to make it stand apart.
