Okay, I have a two-week vacation the last two weeks of August. I didn't make any plans because I thought I was going to be using them to prep for deployment. Now that that's not happening, I want to go somewhere, but I have no idea where just yet.
Where do y'all think I should go? I should mention that it'll be kinda on a budget, though I plan on trying to work some OT to get some extra cash for it. I'm thinking maybe a week or 10 days max on the actual trip.

Oh, I've had that happen personally one time. We had one of the last of the old time wardens here then. I ran to a body alarm in a neighbouring cell house, did my thing, then went back to where I was. We the ART class were doing mass shake downs as part of our training during a lock down, (good as excuse as any). After my little jaunt next door and back I had a hypoglycaemic reaction. Several were checking on me and keeping tabs on my condition. Since the warden was participating in the mass shake down, (very hands on type of warden), he was checking on me too. I felt like a specimen under a microscope.
Get used to it, as this is the Bureau family thing happening to you, I imagine.

Niagara Falls, and go camping for a bit whilst you enjoy the scenery. Nashville, and enjoy the scenery. Missouri Ozarks, and have fun.

I spent enough time in the MO Ozarks in basic and AIT, thanks, lol.
Nashville is less than a day's drive, so that's an option. I've always wanted to go to Niagra Falls, but I'm kinda worried about cost on that one. I'm pretty sure that wherever I go, I'm probably going to camp for a good bit of it, just to save money and I just enjoy camping.
Ideas I've come up with so far:
DC, just to see more of the Smithsonian and such.
Smoky Mountains
Shenendoah (sp?)
Red River Gorge/Natural Bridge (part of Daniel Boone National Forest)
I'm looking for somewhere within a day's drive of me, and scenic. Car camping, mostly, though with the possibility of a short-duration backcountry hike/paddle (2-3 days).

Throw a little water on the road, and everyone loses their #&$%@*#%! mind! Took forever to get home today.

I thought it was just LA. Someone threw a cup of water out of the car on the freeway and the puddle caused a 3 hour backup.

never mind, only matters when you own a snowboard.
Btw I thougth to get one of these for Vienna
I know its gay as hell, but a good solution to the parking problems in Vienna.
Now we have parking stickers for most districts. So I cant park there unless I live there. The public transport is full of ugly and weird people - so I prefer a faggy scooter over that.

I had a snowboard... it's somewhere at my ex's house. Her new boyfriend is probably enjoying it.

Just received a call from the SO, looks like there is a risk for tornadoes this afternoon/evening. Very weird weather indeed

Yep, another Saturday in the 80's while we had Sunday in the 60's (high winds) and now it's in the 50's. Bastards.

That took awhile. Good that it came out well for you.

We have had very warm weather in the seventies, and Wednesday forecast is for in the low eighties. It almost feels like we're living in Central to Southern Texas.
