I hope its more interesting than the hazmat training I've been forced to sit through. We got a full week of it during the academy and it was without a doubt the most borning stuff I've ever been subjected to in my life. The vast majority of the info was geared toward firefighters, not cops. All of the useful info realistically could have been condensed into a day.

Sorry to hear about the bad stuff. Prayers for his healing, brother.

Well, qualified again on all the bang bang tools. I am now officially licensed for another year of carrying and shooting. I had a fairly decent time regardless of the weather being a little chilly. Pain reliever for the joints and dressed to keep warm was a necessity today. I still have to go back in for the stomp and drag, and cleaning of weapons.

Howdy!
G19 has always had too small of a hand grip for me. That's one reason why I carry a G17 off duty, as it fits just about right for me.

Funny thing is, I dont really have a choice I guess. Working plain clothes, we get G19, working on the beat.. G17. I still use my G17 because I didnt want to give it to them yet.. stupid thing is I will shoot a competition in a couple of weeks and I would have to use my G19 for it. That might be a handycap, dont know though.
Thought about getting myself a G17 offduty. Could change the trigger, because we use the heavy springs at work and I dont like them at all.

Speaking of heavy springs, I had to qualify with a Ruger P89 again for the year. I don't know if it was the slide or the springs being weak. The darn slide was moving back into place like something was sticking somewhere on it. I qualified with it anyway.
I didn't know that the G17 springs were heavy for you all. I wonder if the LE models here are considered that? I never have had any trouble with mine feeling heavy.

His probably has an NY1 trigger spring or something installed. And I love the Beretta 92D's we have at the FMC; never was impressed with the Rugers, though.

And for the record, this hazmat class is making my brain hurt. The one instructor of the two made it hurt worse earlier contradicting himself. I literally had to step away from the homework for a bit.

Thanks, all. It doesn't look good. He had a massive stroke while driving. He's in an induced coma while the docs play their games, but the prognosis is bad, it's best.

Will continue to pray. Talk to him. Even in a coma they may hear you.

This is a little more involved, as it's to be the one preparing the shipping papers, signing off on shipments, and a lot more than that implies. It's making sure all everything is packed properly, loaded properly, marked, labelled, placarded properly, and all the shipping documents are done correctly. LOTS of paperwork, math, and other insanity.

Well, first weekend adjacent annual leave time. Two weeks off again, this year. I actually took five weeks off this year altogether. Every other year I do four weeks a year, with pay period of annual leave being donated to the leave pool. This way if something happens to me to where I need the extra annual leave I have an emergency stash of leave available, although with over 800 hours sick leave on the books I should be set for a little while.

My large amount of time accrued is sick leave time. It is the only one that we are allowed to accrue until needed. We get four hours per pay period, so it does take a while to build it up.
We're allowed to keep no more than 240 hours on the annual leave account, before we are in danger of use or loose. Right now I get the maximum of 8 hours per pay period. We are actually expected to take off of work, although they cannot make us take off of work. There is a way to benefit someone else, so some will instead of completely suffering a loss of hours to themselves to go back to the agency will donate their leave time to someone in need. It is too bad that we cannot do that with sick leave at the end of our career. There would be a lot more leave in the leave pool if we were allowed to donate our sick leave. I would donate half the value of mine and keep the other half if they would allow. In fact, I think over a certain amount and it should all be credited to the employee's retirement fund in full, but they won't do it.
