The bacon did have some good reviews, I'm considering getting some.
While the price-per-ounce is undoubtedly lower, that container looks like it might be difficult to open, and I don't think they would stack well in the pantry...

No, that's the easy open package and freeze up nicely!

And they don't require any refrigeration at all until you are ready to eat them.

Stored food can be supplemented. I've killed over 200 of them in the last 3 years or so. Once you have these critters, there's no getting rid of them, so might as well enjoy the free range pork.

OMG! Did you eat them all? If so you must be the size of a HOUSE!

Ok, so what did you do with all the meat? Donate it to the local homeless shelter or food bank. I would think it would be expensive to process that many hogs.

My nephew takes one every couple of weeks or more, never seems to have a problem with people wanting any for their freezer. Were all part of the food chain and none of us are going to make it out of this thing alive.

Some get eaten, some get drug to the "bone yard". The large boars are tough and gamey. An awful lot of them end up getting eaten by my family or the families of others at the ranch I hunt at. We are culling some a bit. Most aren't as large as the one in the picture. A good eating size sow is between 150 and 250 pounds. Squeelers (smaller ones) are good too.

We should probably start a new thread to keep this one on good deals.

Every Day Carry Heavy Duty XL Mountaineer Hiking Day Pack Backpack - $29 (from list of $200). 3456 cu in capacity.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI...m=360572450303

I don't own one, and this post isn't a recommendation. Just a heads up on what looks to be a good price.

Don't know that pack, but can somewhat vouch for the seller. Altatac is where I bought my current camelback vest, several pair of wiley-X's, and a few odds & ends. No problems on any of them, but those were all known brands; never heard of "EDC" packs as a brand.

That is an amazing shot, considering the green opaque mask your are wearing.

My rifle, but the kid is the friend of a friend's son. He had never fired a rifle before that weekend.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll pay $60 for a pair of the tan/brown HRT boots. I don't have any non-black boots, otherwise. Grabbed a pair of BDU's for $18 too.

While not exactly a survival item (altho it could be) a nice fleece vest is a wonderful thing if you're cold. Cabela's has them on sale today for $10 (!) and free shipping (!). Search "Snake River Fleece Vest."

Actually Cabela's has lots of good prices on items today, look around.

Free shipping to store. Many of us don't live close enough to a store for this to be a reasonable option. :(

Cabelas does have good deals if you watch, though. I ordered 3 Troy Battlemags (quality 30 round AR magazines) for ~$52 shipped (to my doorstep) yesterday. That's only $17.31 total cost, each. Cabela's

Add promo code LAPG for another 5% off.

My 4th pair of 5.11 boots this month! I hope they don't cut the price again...

Too late; already ordered some of the Bates. Never tried them before, but my sons use the side-zip versions & like them so I figured I'd give them a shot.

Have several pair of the HRT's already, hot- & cold-weather versions both. Great boots. (I paid $19.99 a pair for mine, on an early LAPG closeout several years back. )

Oh no! At $20 I will have to buy 4 more pairs!

Nope, it was free shipping on that item to your doorstep. It wasn't advertised, and free ship didn't show up until completed checkout. I know because I ordered and watched my total closely. It was indeed free shipping to you. Whether that deal is still running, i dont know.

On another topic, I got Adblock as you mention in your sig, and it rocks. I owe you a big thanks for that.

I wouldn't visit this website...ever...without adblock running.

Others too.

It's the greatest thing to happen to my computer since Al Gore invented the internet.

I also use FlashControl.

No video will ever just up and play. You'll have to click on it to enable flash, unless it's a website you white listed.

An Adblock thing you may not have noticed yet...you know those annoying animated avatars people run? A right click, another couple of clicks...you'll never see it again. Works for still images too, but so much more awesome when used to block the animated, annoying junk

REI Deal of the Day today is a medium (9' x 11') Kelty Shadehouse for $110 shipped. MSRP is supposedly $230.

I don't know if they are any good, but I'll give them a try for some shade on the sandbars on boating trips.
