My brother is a SWAT cop and they just switched from the M-16 to the MP-7.
I told him their training budget would go through the roof with the cost of ammo. Turns out it is about 1.8 cents cheaper per round than 5.56 ball.

My friend is an officer (small town in Ohio) and told me they do target practice with the steel cased wolf ammo in both their service pistols and ar-15's, but carry premium factory rounds like the speer gold dots as the every day defense rounds

That's a motor cop. The helmet and mike are a dead giveaway. It looks like the motorcycle is parked behind. There's not a whole lot of room left on a bike one you get it loaded up with lights, siren, radio and all the other essential police gear.
MP7 is compact and fits the mission.

AR Side-mount on what I THINK is a Victory Police Motorcycle... seen at Police Fleet Expo this year.
It does take a lot of room, though.

If I was looking for a job in that line of work. That Dept would be my first choice. I was waiting to see a M1 Abrams painted blue.

I'm still waiting for Sheriff Joe's explanation on how often he finds a home in the suburbs that needs a howitzer pointed at it.

He doesn't need to shoot it, just drive right through it.

The seat on the bike in the original picture is the standard Harley "solo" seat, whereas the one on this Victory is very different.

I'm pretty sure they're still riding Harleys. Besides, that first picture, the seat does not look remotely similar to the Victory that was posted.
I went to the San Jose PD's youtube site:
http://www.youtube.com/user/SANJOSEPOLICE
From there, they posted a 2011 video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TP4_pgDkUxU
Starts out and there's several Harley's behind him. some other bikes I don't recognize, but nothing that looks like the Victory.
Also, here's a video I found on youtube, with coverage of some protest march that happened this year in San Jose
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z1HzK...feature=relmfu
Lots of video showing San Jose PD. There are several shots of them riding a bike that is NOT a Harley (same white bike from that first video), but nor is it the Victory that was pictured.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z1HzK...feature=relmfu
At the 1:34 mark, cop is very clearly riding a Harley.
At 1:44
At 1:46 (two, one in foreground, one further back)
At 2:23 (you don't see the whole bike, but I have an Electra Glide, I know what they look like)
I did extensive Google searches looking for a tie between Victory and SJPD... nothing.
You show me some evidence of them with a Victory, you might have a point. Until then.... yeah, they're riding Harleys.

My pics were of an AR mount on a Victory I saw earlier this year. In no way linked to SJPD/SFPD/LAPD/PWPGCPD or any other particular PD. I just thought the mount was cool.
