My e-mail got hacked

Good evening guys,

I placed a craigs list ad a couple of weeks ago trying to get rid of some patio bricks I have left over from a project.

Anyway, now my friends and relatives tell me they started getting spam messages from me. The message is just a link to different websites.

I reported it to Yahoo (my e-mail provider) and got no response.
I also made sure my anti virus/spyware/malware is up to date. (Norton)
Did a full system scan and found nothing.

What can I do?
Thanks

see if changing your pw on your mail account helps. If not, try deactivating your account and create a new one.

+1 to the above ^

I'm willing to bet you had a fairly simple password on the account that was not a combination of letters, numbers and symbols. I had a similar thing happen to me, I just changed my password on the account and the spam stopped.

I had a friend that kept sending out those spam joke emails. I noticed some started having just a website on them. She had no idea these were being sent out. We tried everything. Blocking her email address, but its no longer coming from hers. You can go and see the details of who is sending it and its from some spam emailer. You block that email and a week, a month later it starts all over again. It really looks like my friend is the one sending it but its not.

I thought my password was good.
It was six letters and four numbers (the first three letters of my last name, the first three letters of my wife's maiden name and four numbers)

Already changed it though.

I'll let you guys know in a few days if the spam stopped coming to my contacts.

Just wondering, did you make your e-mail visible in your post? I usually don't if I'm posting somewhere like craigslist. Lots of scammers and spammers surfing that site.
