CZ rimfire rifles - Any experiences?
I've been looking at the different CZ rimfire rifles and noticed that one model (don't remember which number) has interchangable barrels. Has anyone has any good or bad experiences with them regarding triggers and the barrel interchangable aspect?

I bought a 452 Scout for my daughter. Loved it so much that I bought a 453 American for me. Awesome rifles, zero regrets. Made the way American's used to make rifles before they got cheap.
I do know that CZ is combining all their rimfire platforms and offering interchangeable barrels - don't have any experience there.

The new series - 455 - has the pinned and interchangeable barrels. They look good, but I have no experience with them.
The old series - 452 - are greeeeeate. In my opinion, the best in the world for the price. Although, I think the Zastavas are darn near as good, after the break-in, for quite a bit less when you can find them. The CZ's have a lapped barrel, the Zastava's do not.
Both have old world craftsmanship you don't get unless you buy Kimber or Cooper.

452 Lux in .22 WMR and 452 Scout in .22lr. Great guns, both are super accurate, steel and wood. If the 455s are anything like the 452s, they'll be great.
From what I've read at Rimfirecentral.com they have better triggers than the 452s.
I would encourage everyone to get a 452 Scout before they're all gone. A youth size rifle with serious performance. Mine will shoot 5 Velocitors into .5" at 70 yards with a scope. I'm 6 foot tall and love shooting the Scout, fits me just fine, plus they are reasonably priced.

I've owned some of the 452/453 series and a friend has the new 455 model. I don't care for some of the cosmetics - stamped sheet steel trigger guards, reverse safety, etc. But those minor beefs aside all CZ rifles, RF or CF, have one thing in common and that's incredible accuracy. Never met one that couldn't put'em all into the same hole with the right ammo and shooter.
My taste these days for serious RFs is the Browning T-Bolt line. Super fast for a bolt gun, accurate beyond description and offered in a variety of configurations their wood stocked sporter model is my favorite field blaster, whatever the caliber.

I adultified a 452 scout and it cut a major swath through Montana prairie dogs this past July.
Any shot inside of 50 yards was an execution, not hunting. So I passed up any shot inside of 50.
Most of my shots were from 70 to 120 yards and I connected a few out to 170.
I had had it threaded for a Tactical Solutions suppressor. Sounds like an air rifle. Sitting in the sagebrush at the edge of the dog town, dogs within 25 yards of me completely ignored me while I mowed down their kin out beyond 50 yards.
Leading up to that hunt, I cut up 2x2's into 1.5x1.5" blocks - like kid's blocks - and plinked them off the bench and from the bipod at 100 yards. 8 or 9 hits out of 10 shots was not uncommon.
I'd be tempted to buy a 455, but the 452 does everything I want it to do, so why bother?

I prefer them to the aluminum or plastic trigger guards of other rimfire rifles in their price class.

Hello:
I have a CZ 452 Lux that is completely stock. It shoots very well with a variety of .22 ammo. It is probably not as accurate as Anschutz or other pure target rimfires, but everyone who has tried my Lux has really liked it. The trigger is a little heavy but there are after market kits to smooth and lighten it up.
The 453 series is basically the same expect they have a single set trigger.
I don't think you can go wrong with a good CZ rimfire rifle.
Chris

I had a 452 American .22lr for a while. I tried probably ten different types of ammo with it, including match ammo, and it never could shoot as good a groups as my slightly more expensive Weatherby MKXXII. Perhaps the 455's are better in this regard, but you might look at the Weatherby anyway. The MKXXII is an Anschutz action in a Weatherby stock.

CZ rimfire rifles are CHEATERS! LOL.. they make this lousy shooter me looks good.
I bought the 452 Scout for my son and went back the next day for a 452 American for myself. Thta was 2 yrs ago. Last year I sold the 10/22 for a CZ 512.
Punch the same hole otta box. What's not the like? It can be a disease: CZitis! You will want more.
Anyhooo.. my son got hooked by the 512 and AR .22 conversion, the Scout has been in the safe. I am planning to get it threaded to host a suppressor... I believe a take off Trainer stock will fit right in making it an adult size. I was just asking about this option on RFC: http://www.rimfirecentral.com/forums...d.php?t=420690
You'll be very happy to go CZ.

I had it threaded for my Tactical Solutions suppressor by Tornado Technologies. They did a great job at a great price.
The downside is the time it took. They had my 452 for 8 full months before I got it back.
If you are in no hurry, I can recommend TT.

I have the 452 American with a Mueller APV scope. I haven't felt the need to do anything to it, it's great right out of the box and a good price.
