Building or Buying an AR 15 .308

I am looking to build or buy an AR 15 in .308 caliber. The purpose of the rifle is deer, hogs and target out to 500+. I reload for my .308 bolt guns and pistols and will most likely reload for the AR. I do have somewhat of a budget, mainly because I want to put as much into the scope as I am into the rifle. I don't plan on putting more than 200 rounds a year on it. For those that have built or bought AR 15's for long range target or field use, what do you recommend?

Also in the future, I would like to go through the process of putting a silencer on it. I know it is a pain and $$'s, but sure would help me put a dent into our hog population.

Thanks for any feedback.

You mentioned a budget, but didn't say what it was.

I was looking into a .308 semi auto I had strongly considered the LaRue Predatar 7.62. It weighs about 8lbs and would be a solid deer/hog rifle. I ended up getting a SCAR 17, but only because I wanted a battle rifle and not a precision rig.

Edit: You're looking at $2500 for the Predatar. If thats too much I have heard good things about the DPMS variants (surprisingly...)

To suppress it, I would recommend looking at an AAC 762SD/SDN6. That way you can use that on any 5.56 AR15s you have as well.

AR's in .308 are built on the AR-10 platform not the AR-15. Just saying. OCD impulses satisfied. Thank you.
There are basically two kinds of people in this world. Those that believe in the Moon Landing and those that don't.

I've been looking very hard at the Mega MA-Ten monolithic upper/lower combo. Problem is that everyone is sold out at the moment. There seem to be a lot of options in the .308s, but from what I've learned on here and other places it to check the compatibility of parts. DPMS has their pattern and so does armalite. I think companies usually make their creation based off one of the two patters. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Nothing smells better than diesel fumes, cosmoline, and burnt gun powder.
