one gun only
you get one gun out of your current arsenal.
I am gonna have to go with the 870 supermag, I can use it HD, I can hunt anything that I need small or large. Downside is you won't have a CC.
What say you?

Remington 1100 in the guage of 12 with a scope.
Oddly enough it's the ONE gun I have that I haven't shot in over 15 years.
It's the only gun I have that I exempt from my "shoot it or sell it to someone who will" rule...simply because it's my dad's old deer gun.
But of all the firesticks in the kit, it's by far the most versitile and powerful. Squirrel at 10 yards to moose at 100 yards. She's taken both.

Rem 870. Because of the interchangeable barrels.

Sentiment strictly: S&W model 10.
Practical reasons: Remington 870.

I say I'm going to use that one gun to shoot whoever thinks they can take the other guns from me.

Would be tricky for me to only have one gun. Hypothetically it would have to be my P226, as it is my duty gun.
I would have to carry it off-duty as well, which is not ideal but could be done.

My favorite is my Beretta Cougar. My 12g and AK could do the most damage. Wife's LCP is the easiest to CC. But my G26 is the most practical compromise so it would most likely be it.

Remington 870 pretty much with the barrels got everything covered out to 125-150 yards or less.

Yes!
Well, if I had to it would be a choice between my G-17 and SGL-31 (AK-74).

One gun. I assume this really means one single gun... not a receiver with a bunch of barrels, etc. So... it's be my S&W 18-3. Don't even have to think about it. There are others I enjoy... that are more effective for different things, etc. I'd deeply grieve not having my beloved 03/03-A3 and M-1 rifles. But if it really did come down to one and only one gun... I'd pick up my 18-3 and walk away.

I prefer to use the term collection, instead of arsenal. Arsenal is a word often used by an anti-gun press, when some poor schmuck gets arrested and the cops find a couple rifles and a couple handguns, along with a few hundred rounds of ammo in his house.
Meanwhile, I only have one weapon, a 1911. (wink-wink, nod-nod)

I would have an AR-15 lower, that would be the "gun" according to the government, and I would swap out uppers and other parts to make all sorts of weapons, including "pistols" in various chamberings.

I'll pick up other arms, from cold, dead hands.

At this time in my life it would be a S&W 17, but would like to have 870 also.

Gonna have to go with a 12 ga. or any reliable confiburation, but preferrably a Rem 870, Browning BPS, or Win 1300... I'd really like to throw in a nice semi-auto .22lr also...

If only one then I would agree with the 870.
I rescued one from a Pawn Shop that I paid $150 for.
I tore it apart completely, refinished the wood, applied some crest to the action and cycled it 200 times and then cleaned the heck out of it. It took forever to get the rem-choke to break loose, but with an oil soak and a heat gun it finally did. The forestocks pump action was sloppy and loose, so I filled it with epoxy to tighten the whole thing up.
Bought a slug barrel and added ten round extention I had in a drawer and it would seem to be a pretty handy shotgun.
It is a compromise, but I only have $250 in it. If I could have any gun it would be a over under drilling with 12 gauge over .223.
Now that would be very handy.
