Thigh holster for Pro sized 1911?
Either my google-fu is weak or they just aren't common. I'm trying to find a thigh holster for a 4 inch barrel 1911 (Kimber Pro CDP II) without success.
If anyone knows of brand with this option I would greatly appreciate the help.

Those will be quite rare,......not very many use a 4" 1911 in a "tactical situation"
Search for a Commander size,......many options available!

No, and it wouldn't be my first choice, either. I do, however, have a selection of holsters for my other pistols and would like to get a thigh rig for this one as well.
I'll look at the Safariland, too. Use one of those for a Warrior, another for a Beretta 92FS.

I guess I would have to be that guy and ask why would you want a thigh holster.

Because the SAS uses them.

No, actually I'm getting MOLLE pistol belts set up for some of my pistols to work better with body armor. I'm very used to working with the type.
Is there something wrong with thigh holsters, or is this one of those anti-"tacticool" comments?
Ok, now I'll be that guy. Why would it matter to me what SAS uses? I'm honestly asking, have no idea.

It's your gun, buy whatever holsters you want to buy.
I find it utterly hilarious that people spend money on tacticool mods to their guns, but question the tacticoolness of certain types of holsters.
I have one thigh holster that I bought back in the late 1980s. It was a Safariland something or another. I wore it in Desert Storm and found that it crawled up my crotch when I walked, it flopped when I ran and it whacked every door frame that I tried to walk through.
I suppose that if an operator were so festooned with guns, gears, and ammo that he/she would have no more room left on the LBE/vest/belt, then a thigh holster would come in handy.

I saw a guy walking around Wal Mart with a thigh holster once. Can you say Mall Ninja? Every one I know that bought one loved it, until they used it.

If you're not responding to the OP please start a thread about how much you dislike thigh holsters or people whose experiences differ from yours elsewhere.
MannyA: I'm having trouble loading the Safariland website for some reason, do you know the particular model that fits nonrailed 1911s? If a regular sized (5 inch) 1911 holster fits both that helps me out. Thanks again.

We use them at work very often. I can't say that walking around Walmart with one is the best idea....
A lot of us take the top strap off and raise the holster to just below belt level on an outer MOLLE belt. Keeps the pistol where I want it and allows for free movement. Actually very comfortable and keeps the pistol from digging in my ribs.
