I already have four mags for this gun because I knew that I would own one someday. I am ordering four more mags tomorrow! Anyone own one of these? Can you comment on it's quality and reliability?

I'd like to see whatever penetration tests you can manage, whether it's freezer bags full of water, or wet newspaper, or geletin, or drywall, or critters.
Also, how's the blast & flash?
And is the grip unsuitable for tiny female hands?
Ultralight & ultra-high capacity, interesting concept.

I want one. Updates please. I remember the AMT automag .22's JUNK. I now own a Mountain Eagle .22 lr and love it. 20 round mags and functions flawlessly. Would like to upgrade to .22 mag and 30 rounds. I can pack the Mountain Eagle all day in a shoulder holster on the snowmachine with no discomfort and all that ammo capability.

Tests are NOT possible I'm afraid.
Living in South FL has it's drawbacks....despite our AWESOME gun laws! Nowhere to shoot bags, newspaper or gelatin. Too many people around!
YES! It's THAT bad!!!!

If it's anything like its predecessor, the Grendel P-30, you'll love it. 30 rounds of .22 WMR is fun!

Did Kel-Tec fixed the keyholing issues with this gun?
PMR-30 production was suspended for a while, due to the rate of twist in the barrel which did not stabilize the bullet in flight.

There's gel tests from a 2 inch revolver. No expansion with HP, but good penetration. Maybe the longer KT can get the HP to open up some.

I had one of those a year or so back.
Mine would only run with CCI Maxi-Mags, but it did run fine with them.
Accuracy was pretty good as well, but too much flash and blast to really enjoy shooting it.
After the novelty wore off I sold it for more than I paid.

Do want.
(Although if I buy one of these I will have to convert my 77/22 over to .22 WMR...sigh)

For $306. What are they going for now? I've seen them for $600 at shows and that isn't a typo.

Lots of good info/tips for any Kel Tec. I was able to get two PMR 30's for Xmas with consecutive serial numbers from my local dealer. Gave one to my son & I'm keeping the other one. Only shot off a couple hundred rounds in the yard on Xmas morning but it sure was a blast. One gun ran flawlessly with CCI ammo, the other gun had 3 FTF using some cheap Winchester ammo.
After that it ran perfect. KelTec has now been producing the 3rd generation of upgrades since the pistol was introduced. Both of these are the latest & I believe will most likely be the last for any upgrades. You can't beat Kel Tec for customer service should you need anything.
The Kel Tec forum will give you serail number cutoff points so you know if you have the latest model. I've had good luck with KelTec in the past and the one time I needed a hammer spring, I just called them & I had it 4 days later delivered to me no charge....
For the price you pay for any KelTec, you get a very decent and reliable gun for the money....
Have fun with it.

I got my PMR-30 a few weeks ago. It is a post recall gun. It does not key hole as it has the updated non-fluted barrel. I was skeptical at first because of the problems with the earlier guns and the somtimes bad press that Kel-tec gets. But I have to say it is a riot to shoot. The tirgger is really smooth and nice. The sights are easy to pick up. Don't try loading 30 rounds in the mag for the first few times you shoot it. The spring is pretty tight out of the box. Mine runs perfect on CCI Maxi Mags. I just picked up some Hornady Critical Defense for it as well as Hornady V-max.
It is easy to take apart and clean.
The gun is VERY light in the hand. Even with a full 30 round mag in it.
It sounds like nothing else I have shot before. You expect a pop but you get a pretty bright muzzle flash and a pretty good bang for the lack of a better way to put it.
Good luck and enjoy it when you finally get it!
Brad

I like the concept. I had the P30L long barrel version of its predecessor. I don't like the location of the safety and the grip seems to narrow too much in the front for me. I'd also like it in 22lr, though I do like the fireball on every shot from wmr.
