Speer Gold Dot 124gr but other weights will work also the 124gr is one of the most popular and works very well. Avoid any weight of the Hydro Shok, its a design that never really worked so great when it was introduced decades ago. Federal HST however is top notch.

I like 147+p HST the best and and a close second is 147 HST and Gold Dots. I am heavy for caliber and tend to shoot better with heavier bullets. Winchester recomends 147 grain bullets out of shorter barrel guns so that works for me.

My personal preference is the 124 +P GDHP, but the Gold Dots and HSTs will serve you well in 147 grain as well.

Would be fine wither HST, Ranger, or Gold Dot. I have never cared for Hydroshock.

Hydra shoks aren't that bad...loaded pretty hot and I've found them to be very accurate. However, I've shot a lot of them since the early 90's and the only ones I've found to expand reliably were the 230 grain .45 auto's.

I'd point you towards the 124 grain +P Gold Dots in this case. Really a whole new generation of hollow point design compared to the Hydra Shok.

As mentioned, the HST's are the new premium hollow point from Federal (very good too).

If you're going to use these in the Glock G26 I'd get the specialized Speer 124 gr. + Short Barrel load.

I go with Federal HST 147gr.

Check out TNOUTDOORS9 on YouTube. He carries a G19 and has done extensive vidseo testing of different commercial ammo in different media. He demonstrates the destructiveness of the HST - its a super cartridge in the 9mm.

Not new news but seeing it in action puts a whole different spin on things.

I would suggest you get some of each and see which works best/you like best. Not all firearms even of the same brand and model like the same ammo.

+1.
People, including me, talk a lot about velocity and weight.
Truth is, high quality, high tech, SD bullet in any weight, +P or not, is fine.
Reliable in your gun, and being proficient with that round, is more important.

Not in any particular order:
Federal HST
Speer GDHP
Winchester Ranger T-Series

Are arguably some of the best SD ammo available today in any caliber.

The 124 gr GD shoots VERY well out of my wifes 26 and my P228. Thats the one I'd go with.

I think both would serve you well. Most people around here like the gold dots.

I would go with the 124 gr Gold Dot +P. Defently use the +p on a gun with a 3in barrel or shorter. There are several LE Agency's that use the 124gr and is street proven.
