I've never loaded the .357 mag for rifles before, just handguns. I have a W269 load and a BlueDot load, both using the same 158g JHP bullet. Which one would be better for rifles??

In terms of velocity, you'll do better with the 296 if that's what you meant by "269". BD is a good powder, but 296 will give you more horsepower. The best I've done is with Hodgdon Lil'Gun.

This has all been in revolvers, but the higher velocities should carry over to rifle.

A cast bullet will give you more velocity still.

As for accuracy, you'll just have to try them out.

thanks! Yep, it's 296. I just shoot the rifles for fun and want the most thump. I get the bullets cheap at the Nosler Pro Shop here in town.
