Any idea when the Glock 30 Gen 4 will come out. The 21 Gen 4 has been out for a while why not a 30?

I would have thought if needed the different sized backstraps was a much more crucial issue than a dual recoil spring.

I just don't understand what the big deal is with the Gen4's. Seems to me everyone wants a big bore gun to shoot like a 22 cal. I know that recoil is relative but I expect my 40's and 45's to kick more than my 9's. I don't seem to notice a whole lot of difference. Just buy one and learn how to shoot it to the best you can.

Not only the MBS but some people also prefer the Gen 4 mag release and grip texture as well.

I use a vickers mag release and stipple grip so gen 3's work great for me only reason I mentioned the dual recoil spring is that is the only real difference that would matter to me between the 3/4

The OP asked when the G30 gen4 will come out, he never said anything about the dual recoil spring (gen3 already has a dual recoil spring by the way) and never made the claim that he wants a big bore gun to shoot like a .22.

To answer your question I would guess only Glock knows when it will be released.

I have a gen3 G30sf and will be swapping it out for the gen4 G30 when it is released. I like the grip texture and magazine release better on the gen4 guns. On my gen3 Glocks I have to use grip tape or bicycle innertube on the grip to get it to stick like I want it to. My gen4 G17 is perfect the way it is.

I actually spoke to Glock today regarding the G30 Gen4... the person said not in 2012...FYI

The Gen 4 has three magazines, rather than the two in Gen 3.
I like the texture and extended mag release, as well.
Haven't compared the spring, but if it works, all the better.

Yeah, this is b.s. from glock.First they said late fall then it was Jan and now late fall or next year.I'll just buy the sf put on an extended mag release.

I suppose that I'll get one at some point, but really the only differences would be:

- MBS
- larger magazine release
- perhaps a "." connector
- RTF4 grip
- extra magazine with the Gen4 model

The RSA is already a dual-spring configuration like the other subcompacts...so, I'll stick with my G30SF for the time being.

All that being said, I don't have a G29 yet, and will be waiting for the Gen4 model to be released

It will probably be end of this year or early next year. Last time they came out with the 21sf model about a year before the 30sf. If I had to guess it will probably be the same formula.

I think another reason why people like the Gen 4's so much is because if your a LEFTY you can put the mag release on the right side. I guess people who are oblivious to others woundn't really think about that but that is one of the main reasons why I LOVE the Gen4. I do hope the G30 Gen4 comes out real soon because I want a .45 BAD. HURRY UP GLOCK!!!

Been out since June as a Blue label gun. Public release in early 2013
