"Stand Your Ground" works in Palm Beach County

Gotta love how the liberal sun sentinel puts it's liberal spin on things, but just goes to show you an armed society is a safe society.

We live in Palm Beach county.
Wealthiest county in Fl.
We are armed, ready and able to defend what's ours.

The reporter seems to imply that he is sorry homicides are continuing to decrease and 6 or more potential victims were able to save themselves by shooting criminals last year.

Not sure what kind of mind can make that into a bad thing, but it has to be a struggle even for a reporter.

The reporter refers to the gun owner in one instance as the assailant. Speaks of a knife wielding thug as having allegedly breaking into a green acres home.
So a justifiable shooting makes you an assailant and broken glass and your bleeding body in the kitchen means you may have broken in.

The mind of a northeast liberal transplanted into "New York South", that is the only mind that can spin an obvious piece of good news, that stand your ground law works and try and pretend it is a bad thing. I love south Florida, but thank God for all the rednecks in FL, north of PBC, Broward and Dade to keep these libtards votes in check!

I have one girl I graduated medical school with, honestly one of the nicest people I know, I still talk with her often by phone, although she does her residency in Philly, she thinks the same way this reporter does. I'll never understand it, I simply avoid talking about such issues with her, because I know she'll never change the way she thinks.

Libtards run rampant here in South Florida

Great story in spite of the biased reporting. Interesting that the rate of homicides continues to drop every year since "stand your ground" went into effect. I have a couple of theories on why this is:

1. Violent crime isn't as much fun when your intended victim might kill you.

2. Every year, fewer violent criminals on the street because they keep dying off from people defending themselves.

3. "Stand your ground" has reduced recitivism to 0%.

In any case, it seems to be working! Carry on!

Perhaps an itsy bitsy bit of the credit also belongs to the citizens that have created an atmosphere where criminals might think twice? The life of crime and harming others is not as appealing when the price for it all could be getting shot or killed.

McAuliffe said he believes that efforts by law enforcement agencies and prosecutors to target gangs and repeat offenders have helped to reduce the violent crime rate.

I'll never understand why PBC is the way it is now.I am up in St.Lucie county and work in Martin county. There obviously are many northern liberals here but there seems to be alot more down that way.I never go further south than I have too. Jupiter isn't bad east of U.S. 1 or west of the turnpike.

I have to Admit FLA IS pretty cool. I like the laws down here- i am in Orlando currently, carrying the G-21 all day. I like the castle doctrine/stand your ground doctrines. i am more clear on the law here than in other states i carry in.

"There definitely was an increase in the Stand Your Ground claims in 2011," said Terri Skiles, chief of the Major Violent Crimes Division in the Palm Beach County State Attorney's Office

wow, people standing up for their own lives, what a concept.
