Always carry...

A good reminder why it always pays to carry (assuming you legally can), and why you should never submit if you are involved in a robbery and the perpetrator(s) go to herd everyone to the back (though in this case it worked out). The statistics on surviving a robbery when this occurs I have heard are very low. Any LEO's with experience who can chime in on the stats?

I've read John Farnum claiming that the odds are bad enough that you should never permit this, but if I was armed, I'd just go along with the herd, and use them as cover, until the shooting started, then I'd draw and do what had to be done.

I read in the paper 20+ years ago about robbery/multiple murder at a fast food joint in Oklahoma.

If I recall correctly, the employees were found dead inside the freezer. Police believe that a former employee was robbing the store and think a current employee may have recognized the man's voice and then he decided to tie them all up and shoot them.

That's all I remember.

I decided right then, I would never allow myself to be tied up. I'd rather fight it out and have a chance to live.

When pitchforks are outlawed, only outlaws will have pitchforks.
