Any New Beretta Nano Owners Out There?

Beretta Nano

I like the pics I've seen and size diminsions...but haven't eye balled one yet.

Anyone purchsed a Nano yet?

I really haven't seen any posts on GT either...why no rave reviews?

Just curious because I got an e-mail from Buds saying they are IN STOCK
and ready to ship. I'm going to have to here some good stuff and get my hands on one before I purchase though.

Thanks

Mick

Go to the Beretta Forum Hand Gun section. Lots of info there, good and bad.

I think it's one of those situations where new guns need the bugs worked out. I'd probably wait a while before I bought one.

Nope, as much as I like Beretta that's one gun that they make that I'll never own. Too much like a Glock for my tastes AND they've had a lot of problems with it to boot. I'll stick with my S&W 642 for CCW thanks.

The Beretta section here has some threads on the Nano.

Bud's price ($475 today) is too high, especially once you add on your FFL's transfer fee. The most common gunstore price I've seen is about $429.

Yep. Thats the price they quoted me. Now I don't believe you have to pay taxes...but you do have $475 Beretta Nano + Shipping at least $30 + FFL $25 puts it at $530...Too steep for my blood. That pistol should be $475 OTD TOPS.

I'm also looking at the Springfield XDS. May have to POP on one of those.

Kinda depends on which one hits the LGS in my area (about 5 to choose from) and which one I like better.

I think both guns are probably solid designs so I'm not really worried about that. But from the two companies I think SA would be better in the CS Dept IF NEEDED.

Thanks for the replys

I've heard nothing but great reviews on it. There was a guy on Utube shooting about 4" groups from 100 yds. Supposed to be an outstanding gun.

Bought one today at Cabela's for $429+$10 background. First impressions; small, top heavy, and lack of slide stop is kind of taking some getting used to.

I wonder if Beretta USA faked it when they posted the video of the Nano shooting 1000-rounds without lube?

I have wondered the same...it's all about the marketing to get those things flying of the shelf initially. It may very well have really happened, but I have learned to take most manufacturer "publicity" with a grain of salt. For me, the proof is in the real world of multiple owner testing and evaluation. That video from Beretta is merely one data point on the gun, and really, would they have posted it as marketing PR if it came out any other way?

I have 1062 rounds through my Nano. I have yet to have any failures. The trigger has improved with every outing, I would give it an A-. Accuracy is quite good and for me, it seems to like rapid firing yielding excellent results, I would give the Nano an A for accuracy. The Nano's design is well thought out. Beretta will be coming out will sights and receivers which should be able to be changed quite easily. I feel the Nano deserves an A for Design. About 250 rounds ago I took it completely apart and tinkered here and there and I was able to get my trigger pull down to 6 lbs. 6 oz. I was extremely happy with the results. The Nano is built like a tank compared to some of its competitors. Barring any unforeseen failures, I give the Nano an overall grade of A. I don't think you can get a better gun in its category for it average price of $429.

Price sounds about right...you did good!

But I'm almost positive it has a "slide stop". Holds slide open after last round in mag is fired. It just doesn't have the external lever to activate the slide stop with your thumb...there is a huge difference. Beretta designed it that way to keep the slide dimensions as thin as possible. I would prefer a lever, but it is what is is. Thats why I'm going to check out the SA XDs when they come out before I buy.
