Berto and his stupid revolvers again...(pics)

So I got out yesterday to shoot some more, brought my recently acquired S&W model 10-7 and the Ruger Bisley BH Flattop in .44sp along.

General Firearms Forum

I forgot my 'BG dressed in black targets', so I just used the generic bullseye targets at ranges between 21ft and 65ft.

I used Magtech 125gr FMJ TC in .38sp, and Blazer 200gr Gold Dots in the .44sp.
Magtech advertises this load at 1000fps....I doubt it, and the Blazer load actually chronos just under 900fps in the .44sp Rugers like mine.(4&5/8"bbl)

I started with the Smith mod 10, this one has the skinny barrel.

General Firearms Forum

Shooting was fast at 21ft, shoot six, speedload, and shoot six more. Rate of fire was over 1/sec.

At 45ft, slow DA, cloverleafed 5 and threw one wide for a 1.3" six shot group. Same deal at 65ft yielded a 2.5" group. Happy with that.

General Firearms Forum

It still needs a tyler, but it shoots damn good. I pulled the sideplate today, added a little Tetra lube. It was dry.

Don't feel persecuted, Berto......
Just because I feel revolvers have a small area of limitation, they are much better to behold than automatics, imho........

THe Ruger Bisley .44sp was hot this day, shot really good.

General Firearms Forum

On top of my usual stuff, I also shot some one-handed efforts since this gun lends itself esp well to bullseye type shooting.

21ft 'rapid fire' worked out to about 1/2sec with strong side thumb cocking SA shooting.
45ft groups were well under 2"
General Firearms Forum

...and I pulled it off again at 65ft. Metal....

One handed went pretty decent at 3oft, the loose group in the white was 50ft, strong hand.
General Firearms Forum

I learned a few hundred rounds ago it liked this ammo, I should stock up.

Berto, cool thread and pics. I like those Blazer 200gr GD rounds, myself, in my Dan Wesson. They shoot to same point of aim as the Rem and Win 240gr magnums. Plus jackets are nice in my 8" ported barrel instead of shaved lead. Also shoot just as well in my 4" barrel.

Chose to go out today and shoot my 17 though. I like 12 yards for quick fire. 10 aimed shots inside about 10 seconds. Not real fast, I know, but a 3.5" group. Bet I can be more accurate than the Glock with .44spl. Certainly in single action, quick cocks, and 8" barrel. Not sure about double action. Think I'll go out and try, probably with 4" barrel.

Just rambling, but your thread gave me some inspiration to take the .44 out

I do my best fast shooting at 7-10yrds with the 1911 and my K frames or Ruger Gp100. The trick for me was learning the rhythm of staging, rolling off the shot and reset on DA revolvers, having the next shot ready as the sight falls back in the notch.
Certainly the 1911 trigger makes up for a little more bounce with the heavier round, but I'm pretty fast with both types and can do the Higginbotham drill on both platforms without much trouble.

Good shootin' Berto!

I'm not sure how I feel about guitars instead of food though.

The only thing I know about guitars is that I can't play one, but nice pictures there Berto. Good shooting and good guns too.

I could probably find a revolver around here somewhere if I looked real hard. I think I've got one.

Guns, what guns, I was looking at the SG and the Strat,LOL.
I've played guitar since age 5, well, actually I've "Played" since 14 but I've had a guitar since age 5 but with being unemployed some "toys" have had to go so I currently don't have a guitar or bass but I still have my harmonicas,LOL.
Once I get back to work I plan on picking up an inexpensive bass and a small amp, maybe 250 watts(you need more amp for a bass guitar then you do for a regular six string) just to mess around with.
Anyway, back on point, I'm coming to my senses and getting more into wheel guns again. I just get tired of hunting down all my brass when I shoot and I don't have to with a six gun. Oh well, nice looking revolvers. Congrats.

I really enjoy Berto's and bac 1023 pictures. I own over 30 revolvers and I am better at shooting them then taking pictures and posting them.

So you two keep the photos coming.

Consecutively numbered?

Holy smokes, do you shoot them? Toolbox guns? Or are they safe queens?

They sure are purty.
