X-Treme Bullets
Anyone have anything good or bad to say about X-Treme bullets? I've been doing most of my 9mm and .40 target/plinking loads with Berry's, but since I seem to frequently want things that aren't in stock, I thought it might be a good idea to have some options.

I have used them in my 9mm .38 and .45 with good results, they shoot just fine for me.

I have used them in 9, 40 and 45 both acp and gap. They have a little thicker plating than Berry. Between the 5 of us that travel to different GSSF matches. We have probably shot well over a million rounds of the X-treme bullets

Thicker plating than the other brands, as unclebob stated. I used to load them a lot but I load Montana Gold or cast bullets.

I used to use them in 9mm 115gr and 124 gr when they sold them locally. They worked fine.

Thanks! I just wanted to hear a few opinions before I spend any money on 'em.

I like the fact that some of the Berry's products are double struck, but I have used X-treme as well.
Just curious, how do you know X-treme bullets are thicker plated than Berry's?

Because one of the people that I shoot and travel with. Took all of the plated bullets and cut them in half and compared the plating. Plus a lot of other people on GT have also stated that the X-treme bullets have thicker plating.

Comparing 230 gr RN X-Treme vs Precision Delta 230 gr FMJ, the PD is only $3 more per 1000.
For my money, the FMJ is a better deal because there are published loads for FMJ and, if I was interested, FMJ can be driven harder.
I didn't compare other calibers. Perhaps some of these other X-Treme bullets are sufficiently less than Precision Delta to tip the scales the other way.

The main benefit to plated bullets is they are fully encapsulated which leads to less lead fouling in the barrel because there is no exposed lead base. If you shoot suppressed weapons, this is ideal. Beyond that, there aren't practical benefits.
