Josh Powell investigation takes a tragic turn

I tried to come up with a good TBO headline, but the fact that he took his innocent boys with him makes this nothing but sad. Only change for him is he gets to hell sooner than expected.

And then there are those trying so hard to be offended that they're imagining things that haven't even been said in a thread.

I like to think there's a special place in hell for people like him. Killing his wife got him close, but taking his kids sealed his fate as hitlers cell mate for eternity. Just wish eternity lasted longer.

This case started locally. I camp at the same place he went the night she disappeared. My wife and I have followed the case.

Reportedly the grandparents are saying that within the last two weeks the boys stared talking about the night they went camping. Susan may have been the van when he set up the tent. After he set it up he took her and came back alone.

Someday I will piss on his grave.

I've camped there with my boys and with their scout troop many times myself. His story was nothing but BS from start to finish. No way, no how he ever camped there on that night. If his dad has even a shred of moral decency (which I'm not counting on) he'll give up the truth so Susan's family can have some sense of peace.

I hear what you are saying, and have investigated about a dozen cases that have similar themes to this, but, The kids are pretty much worthless as witnesses, and many times they will be parroting what one side or the other is saying.

Kids are smart and want to be loved, they are very easily manipulated by adults to embelish stories and repeat lias as if they were the truth.

May he rot in hell for bringing this on his children..

Big news up here last night and today.

In short, the house went so quickly it was apparent that accelerants and other things were used to get the explosion and rapid burn.

The kids never had a chance.

His old man is on suicide watch in jail where he sits for child porn and voyeurism of the likely deceased Susan.

POS used a hatchet on his kids, then set the fire.

I'm not a religious man but this was certainly the work of pure evil...

What goes through a man's mind that would let him kill his own children?

If anyone ever had any doubt as to his guilt or innocence, that should be over.

Imagine the case worker who was getting out of the car when the kids ran in the house and then she got locked out. Besides the obligatory keelhauling she'll go through, emotionally she's got to feel pretty guilty too.

Hadn't heard about the initial incident (from 2009) so this was all new to me.

Horrible.

Holy crap. I'm not real impressed with that dispatcher either. She said she could smell gas and he says "sorry, we respond to life threatening emergencies first." I understand that he "wasn't actively threatening them." I also don't know if I'm looking at it with hindsight.

I don't really think the case worker did anything wrong.

That's another thing I don't like. We have the same system where the police get the 911 call and then transfer to fire or ems. I think it's unnecessary.
