Just read the entire bill. Good luck getting it passed in the Commie State of Illinois. And if it does, the part where the Sheriff can turn down an application so easily is a real weak spot in my opinion. Glad I moved out of Illinois in '73 when I graduated HS. In Georgia it takes about 4 days to get your Weapons Permit.
BTW, the live fire test is a real joke.
(1) a minimum of 30 rounds; and (2) 20 rounds from a distance of 7 yards and 10 rounds from a distance of 15 yards at a B-21 silhouette or equivalent target as approved by the Department.

And, seeing the Gestapo reception given to Rick Savage and crew, "American Diggers" (Spike TV Wednesday nights) when digging with owner's permission near Al Capones's property, I wouldn't live there if they GAVE me a house and let me live tax free. (And be allowed to keep my guns)

The bad part of all this is that the nra is holding the rest of the state hostage just as cook county is by refusing to not even consider a cook "opt out" bill. It's worked in other states, but they won't hear of it in Illinois. Makes me wonder if something fishy is goin on. Know what i mean?
