Oh my god. Now that it said "Glock Doc" I realize that I just met this man.
I saw him at the gun show, and of course saw the Glock 18 he had.

He was just in the gun shop I work at a few weeks ago. I had no idea who he was. We got talking about guns and Glocks and he offered to install my 3.5lb connector at no charge on the spot. He told me about some other things going on in his life, of which I was truly sorry to hear about even just having met the man. He honestly seemed like a gracious, kind, good person.

My prayers and condolences to his friends and family.
What a small world it truly is.

Obituary

This is a copy of the obituary that will run in the San Francisco, San Mateo and San Jose papers. Please also note in the obituary that the address information for the scholarship fund has changed.

Robert Mark Viczorek
1967-2012

Robert Mark Viczorek, beloved son of Roseann McFadden Clavelli and Robert Edward Viczorek, passed away in Cape Coral, Florida on Wednesday, February 8. Rob was fatally wounded when hit by a car.

Born December 3, 1967 in Rahway, New Jersey, Rob lived in New Jersey and Georgia before relocating to San Mateo when he was in first grade. Rob graduated from Hillsdale High School in San Mateo, attended Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and graduated with a B.S. degree from Cal Poly - Pomona. Rob played many sports, including tennis on the USTA junior circuit and later turned to golf – which became his passion.

After college, Rob worked in high tech before establishing his own successful business, where he became known as “The Glock Doc,” providing weapons to law enforcement and citizens. Rob was highly intelligent, creative, talented, athletic, articulate and funny. He could brighten a room with his engaging smile and sense of humor.

His life, though well lived, was far too short, and he is sadly missed and survived by his parents and his brother Richard Viczorek (wife Sarah and their son Robert Edward) of Greensboro, North Carolina. Rob is also survived by Alfred Clavelli, his stepfather, and Elizabeth Mills, his father’s partner. In addition, he is survived by step-siblings, aunts, uncles and cousins all over the country.

Services for Rob will be held on Thursday, February 16 at 10:30 am with a funeral Mass at St. Bartholomew’s Church, San Mateo. Interment follows at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Los Altos.

In lieu of flowers, the family has established an athletic scholarship in Rob’s honor. Contributions may be sent to Hillsdale High School in memory of Robert M. Viczorek, 3115 Del Monte Street, San Mateo, CA 94403.

Rob, we will miss you, and we will never forget you. We love you! Rest in Peace.

HDM, thanks for sharing that beautifully written remembrance. Will have his family in my thoughts in the coming days. Having lost a brother suddenly and at a similar age, I can truly empathize with what they are dealing with. It's going to be very difficult for them all, but it sounds like they are blessed with many good friends and an extended family and support network.

Hi HotDesertMama, I'm so sorry to hear about Rob's passing. i was a girlfriend of his at Hillsdale for a short time. Was also talking to him via e-mail in 2010- he was helping me decide which glock to buy. I had no idea this happened until I googled him about a week ago. Spoke w some of our mutual HS friends and they had no idea either. I would've totally gone to his funeral if I had known sooner. This kinda really bums me out, cause he was such a good guy with such a brilliant mind. The only picture I've seen of him was the one from senior year. Do you have any more recent picts? I promise I won't publish them anywhere. Did he ever marry or have kids? Thank you.
