I have a Gen4 G26 and G17 that I carry on duty. No issues. I got them prepared to work out issues but ran into none. The G17 has a X200 and DG on it.

I came from a $3,000 Springfield 9MM 1911 and the G17 is still pretty damn accurate. Its nice to tear it down completely and clean it in 10 minutes versus about 20-25 for a 1911.

Thanks I just finished calling around and the newest date I can find on the spent cartridges was 5/3/12 unless that is 3/5/12 as they write in Europe the day and month backwards from us. Anyways I called up tech support at Glock and they assured me there are no issues after anything manufactured after 7/22/11 for a Glock 17 Gen4. I am off in about an hour to buy it and then wait 48 hrs to pick it up.

I called up the local gun club regarding the indoor pistol range and I was told. I won't hit anything with a 9 MM pistol. The league everyone uses 45 or 38 caliber or even 22. But the 9 MM pistol I will be last in the league as they weren't meant for competitive shooting.

Is there something I am missing here? I thought the Glock 17 was good for target shooting in a league as well as HD?

If you are talking IDPA, the range clown is missing it. Lots of folks shoot 17's and 19's, even 26's in IDPA where I shoot. Shots are rarely over 10 yards, most are more like 5 yards. Competitive shooters use 17L and 34's.

Other types of competitions, I'm not sure, but the 34 is pretty darn accurate from what I've seen.

You ever watched Hickok45 shoot stock 9MM's? He seems to get them to hit targets okay...

I think he was talking 25 yards the league is. I just wanted a Glock that gave me flexibility if this might be the only one I could afford. I Wanted HD, target shooting, and possible if I needed it conceal carry which I was told is possible with the 17, not the best but it will do for concealed carry which may never happen anyways. If I had a job and making bucks I would buy 3 of them in all different sizes but I am out of work waiting not to collect soc sec in a few months. Times are tough and this economy sucks big time. Don't want to turn this into politics but I never seen this country with this many out of work people. So this one pistol will have to do for a couple years till I get some coin coming back in.

Sorry to get off topic but here are the leaugue rules. There is nothing stating how far the targets will be. What he is telling me is my Glock 17 won't stand a chance, I have no idea what he is talking about:

You do NOT have to be a member to shoot on the pistol league.

This is an open sight, one-hand, no-resting league.

You may rest to pause, but all shooting must be one-handed off-hand.

The league fee is an additional $.50 per week. Leagues include:

Small bore - .22

Large bore - Anything above .22

Individual - Anything goes (scopes, laser sites...)

1. Glock 21 FDE

2. Which fits your situation:
A. I have no problem with this handgun

3. Notes/comments regarding your situation and your thoughts on this issue.

I had a failure to feed. But I think that was due to the round. Also I was using Preban Mags. Other than that odd round, the gun ran flawlessly.

Gen 4

I have a G20 and a G35 both Gen4... Zero problems for them. 500 rounds thru the G20, varying in power from Federal FMJ range ammo to Underwood 200 gr XTP HP. Impressive 10mm gun because the OEM double spring guide rod is sufficient to handle various lower and high power rounds. The G35 has preformed flawlessly as well, having fired 125 rounds WWin 165FMJ and Blazer FMJ . Haven't used hotter ammo yet, but will report results. I am super happy with Gen 4 Glocks.

The list of my Gen 4's are as follows; 21, 21FDE, 23, 23FDE, 35 and 37.

A) I have had no problems out of any of them.

Comments; I love the Gen4 platform. I purchased my 21 for my duty weapon. I have shot several hundreds of rounds out of it and have yet to have a single problem at all. No problems out of the others either. Gen 4 is an AWESOME plaform. Eventually I'll have every model in it.

My wife has a Gen 4 Glock 19. It had the common problems of failure to eject and pegged her in the face and chest often. The RSA recall and new ejector fixed both problems though. She likes it better than my Gen 3, but I don't.

I just picked up a Gen. 4 G19 last week. 150 rounds so far and not a single issue. Mine was made in Austria.

Gen 4 G19 made in 2010. Original everything and no problems through about 1500 rounds.

Gen4: G26, G19, G22, and a new G34
No problems, the first 3 pistols have at least 2k rds each. The G34 has only 300rds but is flawless.

More rounds through the Gen 4 Glock 19 yesterday without issues. It's been perfect since the new ejector and rsa to the tune of over a thousand rounds of Russia's Walmart finest fired by wife.

That said, i have no intentions of buying another Gen 4 for a long long time.
