Glock 23. I have shells hitting me in the head all of the time and yesterday got hit in the face. Test fire date of 8/25/2011. I think I may have a problem but do not want to send back to glock right now and loose use of gun for two weeks because I am in a class. Also shells seem pretty deformed.

Picked up a Gen4 G19 today with a test fire date of 11-15-11. Put 150 rounds through it with no issues so far. Really enjoyed shooting it

You really believe that with so many of us long time Glock shooters who when we get a G4 we suddenly forget how to shoot?
I'm an NRA pistol instructor and I own and have shot a fair number of handguns, and have taught many newbies to shoot. I've carried a Glock for over a decade. And none of those guns put brass to the head, no matter the shooter, including small older women with arthritis.
Now when I buy a G4 17 and get brass to the head, and an eratic ejection pattern, that it is me? It is my fault? Is that what you believe?

19 and 34
Let's do a quick survey. Gen4 Glock owners only please:
1. Which model(s) do you own? 19 and 34
2. Which fits your situation:A. I have no problem with this handgun 34
B. I have ejection problems with this handgun 19 occasionaly ejects toward shooter's head or very weakly to the right side
C. I had ejection problems, Glock (or armorer) fixed it, and it now rocks. Not yet - plan to send next week
D. I had ejection problems, Glock (or armorer) fixed them, but it still isn't right.
3. Notes/comments regarding your situation and your thoughts on this issue
However, the real problem is a failure to feed from magazine. Feed is OK when using the slide release from open. However, if using the "rack technique" the ammo won't seat correctly and catches the slide. This started at about 1600+ rounds. So, I'll call Glock and send it back next week. The Gen 4 19 is from early fall/late summer 2011 and has the early ejection part.

I have a G26 with the 336 ejector and have put close to 800 rounds through it with a variety of ammo. I have shot a lot of Winchester White Box, Federal Champion, Federal HST, Speer Gold Dot, Blazer, Tula, and S&B. I only had 2 cases hit me in the head with S&B and 1 stovepipe with WWB when my friends sister limp wristed my 26.
My Glock has been 100% with all ammo since the stove pipe was a result of an operator error not firearm malfunction. When I buy another pistol towards the end of the year it will be another gen 4 if its a Glock.

Gen4 19, all updated parts, 200 rounds (WWB 115g, Federal Champion 115g, Winchester 147g JHP), occasional weak ejection with a few to the head/few to the arm, no malfunctions (ftf, fte etc....), very accurate pistol.
My personal opinion, is that for whatever reason, Glock has changed the way the gen4 9mm are sprung compared to older gen2/3 9mm models. Add in any extractor issues and it doesn't help the situation. Shoot weak federal champion and you are going to get some weak ejection, shoot hotter ammo and they all eject just fine.
I think Hickok45's vid here shows exactly that.

Follow up. GEN4 G19 somewher arOund 2000 rounds started erratic ejection. At the range yesterday it started throwing it all over the place even with the non-dip extractor. Even started throwing it left and forward. These new G19's are the only guns I've ever seen do this. Calling Glock today.

Had a Gen 4 19. Fired somewhere around 600 rounds with zero failures. Ejection was a little weak and got the occasional hit to the forehead. Got rid of it only because the grip size just wasn't for me.

November 2011 produced gen4 G19 with all the updated parts. I get erratic ejection and the occasional brass to forehead, but I have not had a failure to function in 1500 rounds. I'm satisfied with it's functional reliability for carry, but not impressed with Glock QC.

G26 Gen 4 (bought 11/12/11). G19 Gen 4 (bought 01/26/12). Not one problem. Both have the new ejector.

G23 Gen4 born on 11/10/11 all updated parts. First 500 rounds fifteen to twenty hits to the face with brass. Next 3500 rounds no hits to the face. Just broke in I guess.

Mine has about 600 rounds through it with zero issues. I have had 1 piece of brass hit me in all those rounds. Mine has been perfect.

Gen4 21
only one FTF issue and that was with 1 Golden Saber 230gr my LGS gave me when I purchased the gun. It was probably the 25 bullet i shot. I've put 150 rounds down the pipe since that and no more issues.
Would recommend this weapon to anyone looking to shoot the big 230gr chunks of lead

Gen 4 17. Some ejection hits to head, but only rarely (1:100). Have older 336 ejector. No stoppages and have no complaints. (Note: My ejection problem is no worse than Gen 3s)

1. Glock 17 gen 4, purchased in january 2012.
2. I have no problem with this handgun.
3. I do have ejection issues with my underpowered hard cast lead reloads. If I use my standard 130 PF TMJ reloads, i have 0 failures. This is with 400 rounds so far. I have the latest ejector, RSA, and such. Also, due to my brand new stiff mags issue, i figured the gun needs to be worn in to make the fit and finish work together.

Not to tell you your business but it is ill advised to shoot any unjacketed round in a glock stock barrel. It will fail if lead builds up, which it can do quickly.
Lots of people use quality plated rounds which are very very cheap.
good luck.

1. 31g4.
2. NO problems.
3. The solution to the public broblems seem to be to stay away from 9mms.
