SIG522 question

Hi - I just bought a Sig Sauer 522 Classic yesterday after seeing a sale at Big- 5 and then researching the gun, and most love it. Of course I have all kinds of other rifles, handguns and shotguns too.

I am just wondering what the 2 different Lego like looking pieces that came with the gun do?? They are like 2" long and came in a bag with the lengthened shoulder pad. Also what is the purpose of the button near the bottom of the rear of the stock that goes into a spring that goes into the buttpad - and you can move this backwards? Thanks - should be a fun gun

They are for changing the length of travel of the adjustable stock.

The button on the bottom of the stock is the locking lever to collapse and extend the stock.

my post question was moved - to where? I don't see what forum this question went to.

Also I know about the button that collapses the stock and this ain't it. This button moves backwards and just tightens tension on a spring that goes to the recoil pad.

"Changing the length of travel of the adjustable stock" - that's interesting I will need to research that.

Normally in the SIG 522 you will have three "buttons" in its stock, the big half rounded one close to the rifle is for locking and unlocking the stock so it can be folded. The second underneath the stock and very big lever looking is for extending the stock a couple of inches (2 or 3 positions if I'm not wrong, and the last one that runs along the stock close to the lower bottom and buttpad is the one you use to dismount the stock for cleaning purposes, but without taking the whole assembly out.

Thanks Sgt., I sure will with my Son. Already have the rails kit, bipod and scope waiting to be installed

Thanks that is exactly what I was wondering. I did eventually figure most of it out but didn't know about the various orientations of the blocks. I posted your link in the SigTalk.com Sig rifle forum.
