I am near the Garfield Heights area. I am interested in IDPA. Does anyone close by shoot it and where do you shoot?

Thanks!

Let us know if you try any of the clubs in town. I'm in Parma and am also interested in getting into competitive shooting.

to get a taste of competitive shooting (IDPA/USPSA) - http://www.eriecountycl.com/ - it's just south of sandusky.
on left side of home page click on "action shooting"

it's a good way to get feel for this type of shooting.

58Duck,

Thanks much for the info! I was on your clubs webpage, and it sure looks nice! I'd join but you are correct- it's about 2.5 hours from here.

I think I will look at North Olmsted. I don't care much for indoor shooting, but it seems convenient.

I will post how I made out.

Thanks again!!

ChuckyT - i'm not a member of the Erie County Conservation League. it's a very very nice place to shoot. shooting ranges are new and nicely covered.

the action shoots are open to the public. i believe it costs $5.00 to shoot. they also have a two-gun shoot if you have an AR-type long gun. matches start a 9am, and are usually completed about noon or so.

from Garfield Heights, you're probably looking at about a 45 min. drive. E.C.C.L is really easy to get to and is only about 3 miles from the turnpike . . . might be worth a try . . .
