Dan Wesson Valor New vs. Old Finish

Does anyone have a picture comparing the new DW Valor finish with the old finish under the same light? I'm just curious what the difference in look is. I've never seen one in a gun shop, so I want to make sure that the extra money is worth it for the black gun. I love the pics of the guns with the old style ceramic finish, I just want to see the new finish next to it to compare. Thanks!

Not sure how they look side by side. The old finish looked nice, but the new finish is more durable.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but that is a ceramic finish on the 2009 valor, right? They changed in 2010? Very nice gun, btw...... I think it's the best looking 1911 available for any price. I just sold an extremely rare Winchester SRC the other day, so funds are currently available!

Thanks! Truthfully, I don't know the actual difference between the finish on my gun and the newer Valors. As you can see mine is wearing like iron despite holstering and lot's of use.

No Valor here, but the "duty" finish on my Guardian slide is the same.

Don't know the differences myself, but both seem to be good stuff. I've carried the Guardian for several months with no sign of wear so far on the slide.

The new finish is definitely better.

Thanks for the pics guys, the guns all look good! I got a little side tracked today and picked up a used Springer mil-spec. It's not perfect, but it will give me something to work on for a couple months. After that, the valor should be mine. I've sold a big chunk of my collection of guns this last two months in order to pay off my truck. I owed 12,000 two months ago and now I'm on the home stretch with $750 to go as soon as my next check lands in the account. As soon as that's taken care of it'll free up some money for the valor. Unfortunately, I had to take care of my family before I could buy the new toy, but it's worth it. I've waited two years for this gun, and I can't wait!

I finally got it. I don't know which finish I got, but the day after I put it on lay away the price increased two bills. There is a tag on the box that states ceramic duty finish, but I believe it's a Bud's sticker, so who knows? Anyway, It's been a two year wait due to the poor economy, but it was worth it. Now for a set of grips...........
