Ok, so Noah lived to be 950 years old and because of our sinful nature we have being "regressing" from that and that is why our lifespans have gotten shorter. So, since avergae lifepsans have been increasing over the past hunderd / hundred fifty years does that mean we are coming close to god?

Lifespans have only increased where people have access to nutritious food and medical care. They have not increased elsewhere. In fact we have gotten sicker with all kinds of degenerative and genetic disease.

The Lord has a plan to bring us back to the ideal that He wanted for us in the first place.

I Corinthians 15:51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
15:53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
15:54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

They have increased everywhere, just not by the same amounts.

Not true, the genetic diseases we have today have always been with us. We just didn't know they were there. People were more likely to die young from something as simple as an infection long before they ever got old enough for something like Parkinsons to kick in. But even those with genetic disorders are living longer.

Oh I see. Sorry AG but that's not my fight. I don't see the Bible as a "how to" book for such topics.

How do you know that genetic diseases have always been with us? Sounds like some kind of assumption to me.

There was a time when three foot wingspan dragonflies existed. Is it possible that much more robust humans were around at that time? Maybe things have gone downhill like entropy suggests.

You missed the point. Parkinson's. et al. are diseases of old age. If you die from typhoid at age 40 you're unlikely to get Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, or even diabetes or heart disease.

I'm still waiting for you to tell me what counting system and calender the people in Noah's time used to determine he was 650 years old. You can't conclude that 650 years in Noah's time meant the same as it does today. I doubt those people could keep accurate track of time or could count to 650. I'll be happy to admit I'm mistaken if you can produce some proof. If not, can you admit that your really don't know?

It's possible, do you have any evidence that it is actually true?

Vic graduated with honors studied mutations, genetics, and the etiology of disease. Must have understood something.

Check out this college professor. He is sharp!!

I don't normally question someone's credentials (seems rude to me), but since you brought it up. You graduated with honors, but what was your major?

RN

In order to even get into the program you had to be much better than a C student then over half the class flunked out. It was not at all easy.

Very good, that is certainly an education that qualifies you to speak on the subject. Perhaps not as authoritatively as a geneticist, but certainly more so than a layman's understanding.

Right, because having been a police officer, field training officer, firearms instructor, and academy instructor, that puts me way behind you guys who have never pinned on a badge.

Your credibility is no better here.

You're an RN, as in Registered Nurse!?

Even though you've had courses the deal with the human body and all of it's parts and functions and despite all of that, you think that vestigial organs/behaviors like the appendix, the coccyx, the vomeronasal organ, polymastia, plica semilunaris, Darwin's tubercle, and behaviors like: Palmar grasp reflex, pilomotor reflex among others are due to "damaged and missing genetic information". You've suspended rational thought and came up with an ideological thought for an explanation?

People really don't appreciate the training that an RN has to go through.

BTW nice little plane. My son just got his pilot license

When you understand how complex even a single cell is it is difficult to believe it happened by accident.

I had a chemistry professor who was an atheist. He was lecturing on the origin of life. He said it is like throwing a jigsaw puzzle up in the air and having it come down assembled. Then he said its not that easy. He knew something of the complexity of even the molecules that make up that single cell or even a virus. The probability of it happening by chance is about zero.

No, it was a community college and the competition was real tough. Everyone in my class passed the state boards. Anyone who could not really get way up there was weeded out.

Aww, come on folks (Tilley & Steveksux), the least we can do is respectfully acknowledge someone's area of expertise (even if we still disagree with their conclusions).
