Picked up a classic 1968 Beretta 72 Jaguar :)
I found this beauty recently at my local shop. Its a 1968 Beretta 72 rimfire in immaculate condition. The 44-year-old bluing and plastic grips are about perfect. Its really only the grip screws that show any wear whatsoever. The barrel is 6". Unlike the steel model 70 I picked up earlier this month, this pistol has an aluminum frame. Likewise, this pistol is about 4oz lighter than the 70s, despite having a longer barrel. Due to the year, there are no import markings anywhere on the gun. Its very clean all around. It has the cardboard box as well, but no papers.
I've always had great luck stumbling onto classic handguns in nice shape, but 2012 has been amazing so far. This is the 4th handgun I've bought in like new condition. All are over 20 years old, this being the oldest. I still can't believe I found two pristine model 70 series Berettas in the same month.
Here are some pics.
Thoughts?
Here is my small model 70 series family.
As you can see, the 72 has the push style safety, whereas the 70's safety is much more familiar to 1911 addicts like myself.

Okay man...
I've been on this forum since 2004, and of all the people I've seen here, you have THE nicest, most beautiful collection of firearms I've EVER seen.
How do you find these guns?! Where? Do you save up, or is it sometimes a matter of luck and/or knowing where to look and when to buy?
You have a brushed-stainless steel Colt Python with a 4" barrel that's never been fired before, with light-colored wood stocks, and I absolutely ADORE that gun! I'd easily offer you $4,000 for it......if only I had the money.
So how do you do it, Bac? I'm just astounded.
Beautiful new find on the Beretta, by the way! It looks a hoot to shoot.

Very nice. I wish Beretta would start making them again. If you wanted to put the shorter barrel in the 72 is there a dovetail in the top of the slide to attach a front sight?
