Tennifer coating and holsters
I have read on other forums that leather holsters contribute to premature oxidizing/rusting of your pistol... Is that something to worry about with the Tennifer coating on the Glock slides?
Is that why Glock has that coating, for rust protection?
Is there anything to be concerned about since I do carry mine in a leather holster every day?

I wouldn't worry about the Tennifer coating. I've kept my G27 in a leather holster for 10+ years and no problems yet.

Since 1991 I carry my G19 Gen2 on leather and kydex holsters recently and no problems, worry less and shoot more!
You will be fine, I never use oils or any kind of lubricant for my leather holsters!

Tenifer is a metal treatment, not a coating. And yes, it prevents corrosion.

The black oxide finish you see on the exterior on your Glock is not the tennifer treatment,it can and will wear in almost any holster. The Tennifer treatment is more than skin deep,a metal hardening process and protects against corrosion. SJ 40

Yep. They then cover over it with the standard phosphate finish or bake on finish.

Well huh. Please no one tell that Ruger .357 in my closet that has been in a leather holster for the last 30 years that it will rust in there.
Anyway, if you take care of your firearms and regularly inspect, clean, and oil them you will never have a problem.

No problems with leather or kydex. Just don't sweat on a gun all day, and leave it in the same sweaty holster all night.

I purposely took the finish off one of my Glock 22's to see what it looks like( love it).I took this pic about a year ago and so far haven't had the first problem with it.I also dehorned it too but thats a different story.
