Wanting the new Sig .357 Nightmare
I think it would be an awesome CC 1911, as that round is bad to the bone. I don't care about the silly Nightmare name, as I would end up getting it hardchromed or beadblasted, since I'm not a fan of the contrasting controls. Anyone else interested in this one, or a 1911 in .357 Sig in general. Anyone have one or a 1911 in .357 Sig? What are your thoughts on it? Thanks.

I like the idea, but wouldn't want to stock another caliber.

I love the 357 Sig round and I'm sure it would be an awesome shooter.
I don't care for Sig's goofy marketing these days though.

Yeah, I agree. It would be alot better with a naked slide.

I've talked to several LEOs that switched to 357 sig and they all said really good things about it.

I sold my 229 in .357 and do miss it. Not so sure how much I would like the round for HD though. After the first shot not only would you not be able to see you wouldn't be able to hear a damn thing either.

Gawd! I was just on the Sig website to checkout the .357 SIG Nightmare and saw the Spartan - that thing is hideous!

A guy on another site finished building a custom 1911 in .357sig the other month I was drooling over. Never owned a 1911 mostly do to the price for a half decent model. Having two Glocks chambered in .357sig I like the round and would like a 1911 chambered in it. I guess I'll have to bite the bullet and try to pick one of SIGs offering up.

It's hard not to like a compact round that runs the 9mm bullet at velocities that match and equal +p+ for cheaper than factory 9mm +p+

Found this on Sig's site.
Quote:
The four models being released are below. The part numbers are NOT confirmed yet but speculated below.
- 1911 Traditional Tacops .357 Sig (part number: 1911TR-357-TACOPS)
- 1911 Traditional Carry Stainless .357 Sig (part number: 1911TCO-357-SSS)
- 1911 Fastback Nightmare .357 Sig (part number: 1911F-357-NMR)
- 1911 Reverse Two Tone .357 Sig (part number: 1911-357-RTSS)

Put on some nicer grips and get rid of the scribble on the side of the slide and I think it wouldn't be too bad. As is though I agree it looks like poo.

I have one on order at my LGS, but looks like I'm not getting the Sig til the Summer. Maybe by then Sig .357 ammo cost will drop, that is the only downside, ammo cost is just outrageous.

Who would you send it to for beadblast/hardchrome? Only place I ever heard of was Robar, my buddy sent his P7 there for NP3 refinish. Looks great but $$$$$$$.

I would seriously consider saving up the extra $100 and getting the NP3 just because of the better corrosion protection and added Teflon. Hard chrome is king for abrasion resistance though and I agree with Joe on Metaloy. Such a shame Virgil Tripp is no longer doing Chrome.

I lucked out and happen to own a completely customized Colt Commander that was hardchromed by Virgil.

Yeah I noticed the color, not too bad IMO. The grips and scribble though.
