Until recently I was carrying the 180 grain golden saber in my 27. It seems there is an issue with jacket/core separation in this round.

I know there are more than a couple LE agencies using this round, whether it's the bonded version I don't know.

I was told by someone I know in LE that this jacket/core separation is a good thing. Do you have any info on this round or any advice on this situation?

What is gained through separation? Seems like over penetration SHOULD occur if the jacket separates.

Excessive penetration and jacket/core separation aren't usually associated with one another. In the .40, if you like Golden Saber, try the full power 165 grain load. One department out west that has a lot of shootings has had very good luck with it in their Glocks.
