$1k to spend, what to buy
hypothetically...
Say you own a G19, G20, some .22 rifles, a Mossberg 835 12 guage, SKS, and a Smith & Wesson 642, what would you get next if you had about $1k to spend? I'm not into hunting.
I'm thinking either AR & an inexpensive 9mm pistol of some sort, or a 9mm KT Sub2000 and a .357 revolver.
A few things are calling out to me and I'm having a hard time deciding!
AR
1911
.357 Revolver
9mm Carbine
CZ-75
LCP
I'm so ADD that every day I change my mind.
Convince me to pick something!!

How about a Glock 20SF, with a lone wolf 6" slide and a 9x25 dillon barrel?

Training would be great if you havent had any. You have the pistol, and shotgun covered. Sks are good old rifles, but in my opinion their are much better fighting rifles that are more modern to use now, as far as self defense goes. So, if not training id get a BCM AR. Good luck, and let us know what you decide.

Get an AR- They're already going up in price again.
You already have a Glock 19(great all-around gun) so no need for a cheaper 9mm pistol. I like 357s a lot too, have a GP100 5" barrel and just picked up a BlackHawk 4.62"; also have and like 1911s.
But with 1911s and revolvers you shouldn't have to worry as much about prices going up and limited availability do to possible bans and/or panic buying.
Get a Colt 6920, they were going for $1000 but you might be lucky to find one at that price now..

I'd get a nice AR
Or if you want to be able to shoot a ton for not much $$$, what about an AK-74 type rifle? 5.45 is seriously cheap, you can get the 2160 round crates of russian surplus ammo for like $250~
You could get a really nice Arsenal SGL31 and a crate of ammo for about $1k

I like this idea a lot.
What AR? Are there any to avoid? LGS had a DPMS on sale for $729 last week.

Depends on what you want, and who you ask. Personally, DPMS is on me "do not buy" list. If you want something for range fun, then buy what you can afford. If you want something rugged and reliable for self defense, then look at companies like Bravo Company, Colt, Daniel Defense, and LMT. There's middle ground brands, too. I'd suggest asking this in the Black Rifle Forum here on GT and get some more opinions.

I think I'd go with a stainless Vaquero in .357 Mag.
And if you don't reload yet. Buy reloading equipment!

For the money, it won't go too far, if you're looking for a quality firearm in 1911 or AR.
Even if you get an AR, you'll need optics (unless you have that already), magazines, case, and ammo. Used is a good option. For 1911s, $1k can get some decent used gun but you need magazines and ammo.
If you get a Carbine, you'll need plenty of ammo. Forget another gun if you get that.
If you shot an LCP then that's a low cost option and you can get a revolver like a Ruger GP100 or SP101. LCP uses expensive ammo compared to a 9mm. I think it's a harsh gun. The Sig P238 shoots better.
