I am looking for a few SKS 40rd plus mags. Local gun shops have plastic ones but I really dont want them. Please post links or if someone has some they want to sell let me know.

The Tapco mags have the best reputation for detachable magazines for the SKS.In addition if you use detachable magazines in an SKS it has to be compliant with 922R which means replacing several parts.

Try Survivor's SKS Boards.

The Tapco 20 rounders are widely considered to be the only aftermarket mags of any capacity that function well. Any others are considered hit and miss at best, but someone there might be able to point you toward some. You will also see many stories from people who pulled out the integral mag only to put it back in after repeated reliability problems with detachable/aftermarket.
